Well then let me ask you this, what makes gabbert a top teir prospect? You just hit him with some of the biggest knocks possible. He isnt a winner, can't beat good teams, was NOT highly productive in the gimmicky offense he player in, and has no pro-style experience. I get that he has a big arm, but so did jamarcus russel, who had nothing else going for him. What makes Gabbert such a top prospect?
I don't think they need to address their offensive line. I'm pretty sure all of their starters are coming back. A left tackle to develop behind Matt Light might not be a bad idea, but it's certainly not a BIG need. They drafted Sebastian Vollmer relatively high a few years ago and he's been a pretty solid player. Rich Ohrnberger was selected in the same draft and he provides depth at both guard spots.
3) Buffalo Bills (GH) - Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn 7) San Francisco 49ers (GH) - Robert Quinn, DE/OLB, North Carolina 11) Houston Texans (GH) - Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State 15) Miami Dolphins (GH) - Mark Ingram, RB, Bama 19) New York Giants (GH) - Martez Wilson, LB, Illinois 23) Philadelphia Eagles (GH) - Brandon Harris, CB, Miami 27) Atlanta Falcons (GH) - Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa 31) Pittsburgh Steelers (GH) - Derrek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State Ooooh man. Winning.
Gabbert has potential: like you said, he has a strong arm and very, very good size. I think he's a pretty smart kid too. If my team had a top ten pick and needed a quarterback, I'd rather pass on him. This is a very weak quarterback class and that helps him out a lot.
Carolina Panthers - Cam Newton, QB, Auburn Arizona Cardinals - Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU Dallas Cowboys - Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska Detroit Lions - Tyron Smith, OT, USC New England Patriots - JJ Watt, DL, Wisconsin Kansas City Chiefs - Justin Houston, LB, Georgia Seattle Seahawks - Colin Kaepernick, QB, Nevada Chicago Bears - Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin Bi-Winning.
Coming out of the pistol offense, he'll definitely have to change some things up...coaching will fix his weaknesses. I could see Kaepernick being used in a role similar to the one Tebow was in last season - situational run/pass option plays.
I know who he is and I also know hell will freeze over before he's selected in the first round But hey, nobodies perfect
I don't think so...not so fast!! 2) Denver Broncos (WW)- Marcell Dareus, DT, Bama 6) Cleveland Browns (WW) - AJ Green, WR, Georgia 10) Washington Redskins (WW) - Julio Jones, WR, Bama 14) St Louis Rams (WW) - Aldon Smith, DE, Mizzou 18) San Diego Chargers (WW) - Ryan Kerrigan, DE/OLB, Purdue 22) Indianapolis Colts (WW) - Anthony Costanzo, OT Boston College 26) Baltimore Ravens (WW) - Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado 30) New York Jets (WW) - Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA
Hell froze over about thirteen times already while we were waiting for you to make all of our horrible selections.
I hate to break it to you but Cam Newton #1 Overall was probably the dumbest pick in the entire draft. Okay, scratch that, not probably, but definitely
I was surprised how well he adapted to being under center @ the Senior Bowl, took to it like a fish to water. Needs help in what comes after the snap, but even an average QB coach can fix your step drops and footwork. I thought the way they used Tebow was gonna fail badly, but after seeing what he did, I can actually see Kaepernick taking that role in Seattle. Probably my favorite pick of the night outside the top 10
