I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but I always look at College players regardless of their draft eligibility.

2012...year of WR, CB and OT......not to mention a few top QBs (Luck, Barkley & Foles)

Andrew Luck and Quiton Coples are my top players.

2012 is going to have one of the best WR draft class in years, especially Rd 1.

It's possible and more than likely, 6 wideouts will be drafted in round 1:

    Alshon Jeffery
    Justin Blackmon
    Michael Floyd
    Ryan Broyles
    Greg Childs
    Jeff Fuller

The OT position is much better in 2012 and all could be Rd 1 selections:

    Riley Reiff
    Matt Reynolds
    Jonathan Martin
    Mike Adams
    Nate Potter
    Matt Kalil

CBs are very strong, I like this group.

    Chase Minnifield
    Alfonzo Dennard
    Coryell Judie
    Stephon Gilmore
    Janoris Jenkins
    Omar Bolden

Never too early to think about next year. After studying 2011's players for months and months, I enjoy researching the quality of next year's draft.

Whats your opinion on guys like Rashard Hall and Blake Gideon for FS in next years draft? Both had impressive years and if the Jets dont go safety this season, these guys could come in and be great ballhawks on D.

I almost hope we trade our first this year for a mid round pick + a first next year.

As unlikely as that is to happen, id be a huge fan

Watching quite a few Clemson games, I really like Hall. Hall has good range and seems to make plays. I think he's a redshirt Soph and may not declare for 2012's draft.

To be honest, I didn't see any Texas games this past year. I know it's crazy, but I was watching other games that were more interesting to me. Gideon is a very intelligent player, don't know if he has all the measurables to be a top flight safety in the NFL.

Next years 1st round seems like itll be far more talented.

And considering that were going to have Slauson/Hunter/Ducasse (at least 2 of the 3) as starters this season, I would GREATLY like to have an extra first next year with all thos stud OTs.

We already have a young Mangold/DaBrick to pave the way for a long long time. If we could add another young stud to that mix, we wont have a hard time being the best rushing time in the nfl for much of the next 10 years.

Not to mention there really arent that many names that im excited about who might be on the board when we pick at 30.

Add Morris Claiborn to that CB list, not nearly as physically gifted as Peterson, but still a monster

Im thinking Hall has a great year and really has a tough decision on his hands to go into the draft or not.

Gideon has been consistent at Texas since his freshman season, he's a great run stopper and has decent ballskills, not sure on how his exact 40 time is but is fast on the field and is just consistently everywhere. ( read his projected 40 time to be in the 4.5's). At 6'1 200lbs he's got a great build. He'd be a great mid round pick up for the Jets next season.

I probably should have added Brandon Boykin, I think he has a big upside.

Only in certain positions. DL is much more talented this year.

We are a win now team, we want the best players possible to bring in for this years run at a superbowl. If we were a rebuilding team stuck with a shitty pick I could see where your coming from but Rex and Tanny want a superbowl by any means possible and our 1 st rounders this year could possibly contribute a lot to getting where we want to be.

Rex is a believer of picking DL later and coaching them up. I mean guys like Devito and Marques Douglas were both undrafted.

Hell Pouha was almost a 4th round pick.

Eitherway our FO is aggressive when it comes to the draft, so I have absolutely no expectation of us trading down this year, let alone into next years draft.

Though it would be nice to be able to completely rebuild our offensive line especially with Woody gone, Moore turning 31, hunter turning 30 (and never really being a starter anyway).

I agree that well likely end up with an OLB (I dont see Rex drafting DL early unless its someone he LOVES)

But win now teams need to protect their franchise QB. Especially since Sanchez has had shoulder and knee issues. If Sanchez goes the path of Pennington not only does win now go out the window, but so does win anytime soon.

I don't mind trading down, but it all depends who is available when we decide to trade down.

I doubt you would find a taker to trade next year's 1st rd pick....only crazy Al.

I think Moore has 3 or 4 more good years, and let's not give up on Vlad and Slauson.

And it continues. What a monster he's going to be next season. I'm excited to see how Hightower is used next year, and if he can get that draft stock back so far removed from the knee injury.

Keeping up the Bama theme, Dre Kirkpatrick has the tools to be a stud corner, but I think Jayron Hosely from VTech is the guy to watch at that position. He was lights out last season, kid just makes plays.

None of the names you mentioned are star power. Yes, they are good players but if they were more then that, we wouldn't be searching for that elite pass rusher.

Those guys are DL , an elite pass rusher for us would have to be an OLB. Elite pass rushers generally arent sitting on the board at 30 anyway.

I like some of those names, but I would rather trade next years first to give us some wiggle room in this draft coming up. We could really fix a lot of things with this draft and it is a real shame we don't have a second round pick this year.
