I have McDaniel rated as a fourth rounder. I think he's got the best ball skills out of any safety in this class, but he makes too many mistakes.

Williams prepares so hard that he could start right away. McDaniel would have trouble being thrown into the fire.

DMC will more than likely be a playmaker at the next level, but he's a more risky pick even with Williams coming off of an injury.

Possibly, my guy was mentioned briefly right around the NC game, and his name stuck around for a few weeks, then he dissapeared. But from my searching on him, I can't figure out why he isn't being talked about more. That said, I think that reason might well be because everyone has been so focused on having to get a first round OLB, that we have all but ignored mid-late round prospects at the position.

Does he spend his spare time as a judge in NC?

A not so subtle hint :)

Rex's 3-4 is not a "traditional" 3-4. Sometimes there are 4 men on the line.
    Sometimes the NT plays DE....

The Jet's don't need a 3-4 D-lineman, they need a versatile football player who plays on the d-line.

The Jets' defense in general needs versatile players who can handle various roles on the field.

I love the Williams pick. I included him in my mock several weeks ago.

I decided to use Mr. E's own words to answer this one.

In terms of if we needed Paea to fill in for a short period of time, or in goaline situations or something brief of that ilk, he can probably handle it. But if we are asking him to be a full time 3-4 DE I think he will struggle. But if we need him to fill in here or there, or even take the occasional snap there to spell our ends, he will be fine.

From all accounts, Paea is competitor who spends plenty of time in the classroom and goes just as hard in the classroom as he does on the field, which in case you aren't sure, is pretty damn hard. Paea, with the help of our great defensive staff, will be pretty solid if we put him at end, but he wouldnt be as good as he could be at the nose for us. Pouha on the other hand, can play the end position for us, while Paea handles the middle of the lines.

Honestly I have no idea. If he does i hadn't heard about it... now I have to go look.

Edit: Apparently its just subtle enough for me not to be able to figure it out.

Whether or not we are talking about the same guy is irrelevant at this point. I went searching to find any prospect related to a judge in NC, and came up empty. Now I just want to know who you are talking about!

The prospect I'm thinking of that I think you are thinking of has the same name of any appeal judge in North Carolina.

I guess we are on 2 different pages...

    Damn.

Are you telling me you wouldn't want THIS rushing the passer?

haha. Frankly no thats not who I was thinking of, for some reason I had it in my head there was a college prospect who was moonlighting as a judge. Which in retrospect makes less than no sense, because even if the kid was a pre-law student, there is no way in the world he would be allowed to practice as a judge...

So yeah all my various searches of NFL prospect and Judge came up very empty. But you are right, this guy was talked about briefly at basically the same time as my guy. The thing I find interesting looking back on it, is your guys counterpart was talked about as well. Then for whatever reason, his counterpart blew up and is talked about quite a bit now, while your guy hasnt been mentioned in a while. That said the guy I am thinking of was talked about a bit more frequently than our judge friend.

We could call him the "white Gholston"

I think everyone knows that old dude's name is Rick Elmore now.

Zona's Ricky Elmore is not the pick. I like him as a prospect though.

    Haha, well done Magilla.

I've narrowed Mr. E's possibilities to 2. The one aforementioned guy that will go higher, and another guy who is probably good for around here that could be really interesting as a developmental prospect. My hint, the parents of both were born in other countries (the same one, actually).

It's not Sam Acho - I have him rated as a second rounder. I have a feeling I know who the other player is and it's not him either.

I have a feeling the player is not a typical 3-4 OLB.

Mr E may be thinking out of the box again.

He's a 3-4 linebacker. I have a feeling a lot of people are going to see this pick as a reach, but like I said earlier, I'll take production over workout numbers.

I'm a big fan of guys that work hard - my fourth round selection has a hell of a motor.

The only player that I can think of that was very productive, has a good motor, lacks top speed and is a later round pick would be Brian Duncan, Texas Tech.
