ive been watchin jetsnation lately and all they do is talk about how our team is gonna be good this year and sayin how pennington is amazing. if you watched the show and see what they talk about it almost seems that they are tellin you this stuff so u look forward to the season i mean they are sayin how pennington looks better than he ever has before? yea im sure after two rototar cuff surgeries. i dk if hoax is the right word actually its not the right word but whatever it is it seems like the all wise ray lucas and that old fatback are tryin to persuade us into thinking of fantasy rather than giving us the cold facts. also have you guys seen the quotes that they have on the jets and mets commercials. on the mets commercial they show pictures of the players and willie and at the end the screen goes black and they put a quote "just play the game" Willie randolph o do u really i thought u were supposed to not play the game and just chill on the field i mean cmon . the producers of sny are fricken retarted thats not a memorable quote to put in a commercial im sorry
I just mentioned to a friend of mine the other day how they keep saying we're going to have such a great offense, comparing us to San Diego because of Shotty. I think they're forgetting (or choosing to omit) the fact that we don't have Brees, Tomlinson, and Gates. I guess the producers would rather them pump up the Jets because it is a Jets show. I don't think they'd spend the whole show saying how much the Jets are going to suck, or they'd get cancelled.
Yeah but they are a station employed by the Jets, that the organization has stake in. What do you think they are going to do, talk about how mediocre the team will be? They have a job, and that job has to be to put the team in the most positive light possible, so they do. Plus, it is not entirely impossible that the Jets can be a 8-8 yeam if Chad comes back healthy and the O-line and D-line improve.
I guess you don't get MASN. The Nationals are portrayed as the best team in the league telecast after telecast.
I watched the first two episodes, then gave up. I had high hopes for the show, but it just sucks. Of course it's going to pump up the Jets. It's a Jets/Mets station. Look at Yes, they never portray the Yankees or Nets in a bad light. That's just the way it is. My problem with the show is that it just isn't interesting enough to hold my interest throughout the whole thing. (Though it might be better now, I have no idea, and I don't plan on watching it again. Maybe once TC starts, but otherwise, I have no desire to waste my time with it.) As far as any commercials, you kind of have to bear with them I think. It's still a fledgling station. Are they still having video/audio sync problems? I don't watch the Mets, so I don't know if the terrible audio is still there. I know when the station first started, it drove me insane trying to watch with the audio during commercials being for totally different commercials. Who knows? They more than likely jumped into the water too quickly. When Steinbrenner started Yes, the Yankees were rich. It was easy to put the cash into the station. I would be willing to bet the same level of cash was not put into the SNY venture. That sucks, since they took over the old CNN studio, so the infrastructure was already there. All they had to do was bring in the equipment. Ah well. Good thing I'm a Yankee fan and the Jets play on CBS.
1) TIVO it. 2) Of course It's Biased - WHO CARES - I love it - they have clips of players behind the scenes that are downright funny like Baker trying to fish on his boat last week... Guys video taping behind the scenes stuff. Plus run downs of the division rivals, coaching interviews and analysis and player analysis... Where else this time of year can you see video of the Latest camp? You saw an interview on Jet Nation With Schott long before we read "Shcotts' 1st interviews" in the paper... It's the freaking Offseason - This show is GREAT.... You Tivo it and blast through it in about 15 minutes when you get a chance.
Guys, this show is produced by the team, on a network the team has a stake in. It's going to be homer central. It's NEVER going to be critical.
I think that Lucas and Buttle are absolutely dreadful as hosts, but some of the content is certainly interesting. I second the TIVO remark- you can breeze through alot of the commercials and useless banter in no time.
Hypothetical: Curtis Martin is returning to his house after an all-out cocaine bender, hooker in the passenger seat, after having just shot someone in a traffic dispute, while fleeing he hits a bus full of nuns, a piece of glass being carried across the street by 2 guys and then a cart filled with fruit, after which point he is pulled over by the police following a 1 hour chase involving cars, helicopters, dogs and tanks, ordered to step out of the car he throws Chinese stars at the police and then takes a steaming dump on the hood of a police cruiser, while flipping the bird to the media helicopter overhead. He's subsequently beaten down and taken into custody. Jets Nation Spin- Ray Mucas- "Curtis Martin will have a bounce-back season from last year. He's got more character than anyone on the team and he WILL be there for all minicamps and training camps- he's the identity of this team." Greg Butthead- "He's an ace, throw away your pencil and break out the pen, he's #1 on this team." *On a side note, I think that the lead guy on the show is really Lance Pants from Bang's cartoons.
Ray Lucas said on the show this week " Mark my words, Doug Jolley is going to be a pro bowler this year." That right there was enough for me.
buttle makes the show unwatchable. he is absolutely horrid and nothing but a pompous blowhard who knows ver little about football. lucas i can take but he needs work too. thank god for my dvr which lets me fast forward through buttle
Knowledgeable fans know to take the show for what it is and just enjoy the clips and interviews you can't see anywhere else... ESPECIALLY this tim eof the year. And personally I enjoyed their analysis of each unit and their opinions on changes such as the 3-4 defense and the clips they showed of the New England Defense and player responsibilities in that D....... Yeah, "we all know that stuff" but, it's nice to see the clips in slow motion and a discussion how that could relate to the Jets defense....
