Per Schefter on Twitter. Well, he can't be worse than what we have. A Leonhard/Sanders combo would be nice at safety. Injury risk, yes. But is he really worse than Eric Smith?
I'd take a flyer on him with an incentive laden contract...especially since we all know he'll be out for the season by week 2.
Cool, maybe we can bring in Chad Pennington too. He'll probably get injured when he shakes Rex's hand.
This is just Rex working the team doctors hard with the impending departure of Jenks. They need something to do.
Add up game playing totals in 2008, 2009, and 2010. That number would be 8 and a quarter games. That's 3 seasons of football, 48 games. It does suck for him, he is only 30 but 3 years in a row of IR.
waste of time. use the $ to resign Eric Smith. Smith isn't afraid to give somebody a dirty blow, and actually can get on an NFL field.
I lump him in the same category of Jenkins and kiwanuka. High risk high reward guys that if they come cheap may be worth it. Can't have too many of those types but you can swing one or two.
This guy will be an ANIMAL for at least one game next year. Either that, or he'll break Vinny's record for fastest starter to be placed on IR in a Jets uniform.
Hey, doesn't cost us anything to give him a medical and see how he's doing... I don't understand why many of you are over-reacting.
He's the very definition of injury prone. It actually does cost something for the Jets to fly him over here and perform tests, etc. After the Kris Jenkins B.S, I don't want another brittle player in Jets uniform.
None of you guys seem optimistic about this at all. This excited me personally. Sanders is a very very good safety when he is healthy. The guy has had some really bad luck but eventually(hopefully) his luck with injuries should turn around. If we bring him in on the cheap with an incentive laden contract, I would be estatic to see what Rex could do with him. I know everyone is just going to say pass because of his injuries, but maybe this guy changed up his workout routine, like LT did and is ready to ball out.
Obviously it would be great if he stayed healthy but there's no reason to believe he would be. If there was something he could do to prevent being glass joe, don't you think he would have done it already?
