This is my draft for the new york jets i think we resign Holmes, Edwards, and I hope we sign Cromartie or Asomugha but it's unlikely we will I also think Kyle Wilson will be able to fill in. 1st Aldon Smith / Justin Houston OLB Missouri / Georgia I really think that an elite pass rusher will fall to this spot and it is easily our number one priority. 2nd Muh Wilkerson / Christian Ballard DE Temple / Iowa there is so much talent available at the top of the 2nd that we should trade down. But we won't it's not our front office's philosophy we trade up not down. I think we will give our 3rd and Cotchery for a early 2nd. 4th Deandre McDaniels / Ian Williams / Kenrick Ellis S / NT Clemson / Notre Dame / Hampton Here we take the best available player that fits our needs. Since we got rid of Jenkins we will need a new NT to rotate with Pouha. And safety has been a need for a while. all of these players could start as role players grow into starters. 5th Ronald Johnson/ Dane Sanzenbacher / Jeff Mahel Slot WR USC / Ohio State / Oregon We could really use a good slot receiver even if we don't trade Cotchery. also all of these guys have ability to return kicks if we loose Brad Smith and Cro. 6th Markus White / Alex Wujciak OLB / ILB Florida State / Maryland Mr.E has a write up on Markus White here. http://www.forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=64688 He could be a situational pass rusher and develop into a starter. Or we could get some depth at ILB behind our 2 elite starters. 7th Wes Byrum K Auburn If we all want to survive long enough to see the jets win the superbowl we need a new kicker. Wes Byrum was 15 of 16 for the year and 5 of 6 from 40 or longer.
The NFL doesn't allow one pick to choose 2 prospects  Well, since some of the guys won't last to the pick you have them at, the draft should shape up like this: Wilkerson in the 1st Williams in the 3rd Maehl in the 4th Markus White in the 5th Wujciak in the 6th And then the kicker.
I put multiple because i think at least one of those prospects will fall to that spot wilk could fall to the early 2nd. And if not him than ballard basically the first is who i hope the rest are slightly more likely.
A few comments: From all the info available the Jets do not have a 2nd Round pick, and I would never trade Cotch to move up 1 round. If Wilkerson is available in late Round 2, it would be stunning and isn't happening. A mock isn't a guessing game for the reader....it should specific, to the point with your opinion on your ONE selection. I have trouble taking any mock serious that has multiple picks per round. It's a jumbled bunch of garbage. Take a stand and commit to a certain player. A lot of people that don't understand the draft, and find so called "draft gurus" arrogant or opinionated.....you have to have some arrogance to be commited and back your opinions. There is tons of hate for Mel Kiper cause he takes a stand, I respect his opinion...but don't always agree. I have more respect for posters that put their opinions on the line, then those that waver back and forth.
^^ he traded J-co and our #3 for the early second to select Wilk/Ballard. I agree its much better if a poster sticks to his opinions and takes a stand selecting a single player, but as a first attempt this early in the offseason, its not as bad as if this was 3 days before the draft. Also there is zero chance Aldon Smith is there at 30, Houston maybe and its a big maybe after his combine, but not Smith.
Yeah the amount of picks you have is a little ridiculous, that being said I wouldnt be disappointed with any of the alternative picks
Ya in retrospect I did put to many picks. Also the reason that I have smith or Houston falling to the late first is because of the insane depth of the 3-4 OLB position. Smith and Houston are the 5th and 6th 3-4 OLB to be taken this year imo Quinn , Miller , Kerrigan , and Ayers. So although they are better than this spot I can see them fall to this spot.no way do all 6 of these guys get taken before the 30th pick. Same is true of Wilkerson great values in the late 1st and early 2nd. Also not a big miller fan but some team will fall in love with him and take him earlier than he should go.
Like the RoJo and Byrum picks. Byrum is a very clutch and consistent kicker, probably the best ever from Auburn, and that's saying something with the great ones they've had...
Nick Folk isn't bad. I seem to remember him getting us one game closer to the Super Bowl this season.
Folk hasn't done anything to deserve being replaced after one year, but oddly enough, teams find the smallest reasons to cut kickers. It's a different situation with Folk though, considering he's a RFA. I think what type of deal they sign him to is key, 1-2 years tells me the Kicker position is fair game...
I know alot of you probably already know this because I post it alot, but as a student who goes to Maryland Alex Wujciak is going to be a steal in this draft. Watch some of his highlights. The kid is everywhere and can do everything. He is around every tackle gets can get in the backfield and can catch the ball. I would love to have him grow behind bart scott and Harris.
