looks like they gutted a home depot and transformed it into a ridiculously oversized house on the water. poverty sometimes can break your heart.
i think derek has now fully taken lou gehrig's 'luckiest man on the face of the earth" title. he gets to bang minka kelly in every room, and he's not going to die in a few weeks, there's another pretty big plus in the lucky dept.
Hank's comments are just being blown out of proportion as is always the case with NY media. Nice crib, Derek.
We all know the spring doesn't indicate shit but it's never bad to see the young guns show flashes. Betances whiffed the side today in his one inning, Montero had an RBI single, and Nova went 6 up 6 down with 2 K's. Also, Jorge Vazquez has 2 dings and 3 RBI in the first two ball games. Would love to hear people's opinions on Vazquez's capabilities. He's 29, a 10 year vet of the Mexican league.
He might be a 4A type of player. His biggest problem seems to be the inability to draw walks. He is like a Mexican Jeff Francoeur in that way. A .313 on-base percentage in 316 plate appearances at S/W-B is not good.
Montero off to a good start. I'd love to see him play well enough to win the starting job, but that's highly unlikely unless Martin gets injured. We shall see soon enough.
I'd be quite down with Liriano as long as Montero or Betances stay put. Banuelos and Prior had 1-2-3 innings today.
Montero made contact every at bat. The one at bat, he saw like 10 pitches and ripped the ball on a line to 3rd. He looks like he is the real deal. Betances looked great as well. Hometown kid, hope he works out well.
