How do you draft guys feel about him? I think he'd be successful as an interior DL in a 4-3 but his strength and speed are impressive. Not sure if he's ideal as a NT in a Rex Ryan 3-4. His draft stock seems to be all over the place too, I've seen anywhere from top 10 to late 2nd round but I'd imagine that's due to injury.

Probably some of those mocks having Paea high in round 1 haven't been updated recently.

Paea tore his meniscus at Mobile and it will probably drop him into mid rd 2. If everything checks out, some team will get a steal...as long as they're willing to take a chance.

    IMO, he's NOT a NT, but a 3 technique penetrating DT...best suited in a 4-3 defense.

Paea just broke the combine bench record with 49 reps. Ridiculous..

He's a 4-3 kid at 6'1. An NFC team is going to love him.

Denver could get Fairley with the #2 and Paea in round 2. That'd be pretty crazy.

Paea's a first rounder, especially after putting up that many reps.

I'd be happy to lift the bar 49 times.

If the Panthers pass on Fairley, they're nuts!

...not if they take Cam Newton or AJ Green.

    Incredible!!

If he didn't tear his meniscus he would be a solid top 10 player hands down.

With today's performance, late Rd 1 is almost certain.

Robert Quinn is getting a lot of love, I had him as my best player in this draft, back in the summer, before he got suspended.

    Mr E,

Green could be rated that highly, but isn't that way too high for Cam Newton? I mean I love the kid, and think he could truly be a great QB in the NFL and the best QB prospect in the draft, but isn't he slated as a mid-round pick and the 2nd or 3rd best QB prospect according to the "experts"?

Even then, it's said he'll probably need 2-3 years before he's ready to start. I see Fairley as another Kris Jenkins or better. I think he has the potential to be a perennial All Pro at DT.

Hell no. Newton will more than likely be a top ten pick.

Cam Newton is my top rated quarterback. If the Panthers' new staff decides they want to bring in "their" guy, Newton should be their pick.

I think Clausen can get the job done in this league, but there's not enough weapons on that team for him to work with. Newton can create on his own.

Nick Fairley is nothing like Kris Jenkins.

I agree that he has All-Pro potential, but a franchise quarterback is way more important than a defensive tackle.

With regards to Newton, I hope you're right that he will be a top 10 pick. I never understood why people were saying he wouldn't be or why Blaine Gabbert was a better prospect. Made zero sense to me.

I actually think the Panthers should take Newton, just think that since they don't have a veteran QB for Newton to study under and with Rivera being a former DC, that he's more likely to go D with the first pick.

I don't like Clausen. Didn't like him in college and didn't like him with the Panthers last year. He looked better the 2nd time, and may develop into a reliable starter, but I think he may wind up being a career backup or one of the journeymen QBs who bounces from team to team.

I definitely agree that franchise QB is more important than a DT, even a perennial All Pro, but disagree with you about Fairley. I think he has the same ability to disrupt and take over a game than Kris Jenkins had.

Jenkins never really put up big sack totals. Fairley has the ability to get into the backfield - I'd say he's more like Warren Sapp.

Ah, ok, thanks. I see where you're coming from now. In that regard, I agree, because I think Fairley can and will generate a lot of pressure on opposing QBs in the NFL.

    That's a very good comparison.
