:breakdance: I was kidding with the bust statement. But coming in as "The Nations Top Punt Returner" and doing next to nothing on special teams for us, really? Beat out by Coleman, Cole, insert any DB on our roster all season long. Show me something Kyle!
I do not know how you are defining "ever done anything in the NFL", and I am guessing that by non BCS Schools you are speaking of the BCS Schhols that have an automatic bid to the BCS games, but I submit the follwing non-BCS players that did a little somthing in the NFL. Phill Simms, Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, Doug Williams, Roger Staubach,
How about throwing out Terrell Owens, LaDainian Tomlinson (TCU not BCS), Marques Colston...I could go on and on and on...BCS has nothing to do with it.
Hate on but read this one. Revis. Hate him. The hold out, the white boy "friend" he has. I really think they are gay lovers. He called for more leadership after the Steelers game. Your Darrelle Revis. Leadership after that contract and performance should start with you. Loser. Is he even a leader in the back field? Does he help the younger guys? Nobody can answer this question, im assuming he doesnt. Cromartie. How many kids with how many women? Talk about an idiot. Wilson. Couldnt even handle punt returns even as a rookie? Got beat out by Cole and Colemen all year. First year bust. If only he could catch a punt i would have more faith going into next year without Cromartie. Revis - 1st round Wilson - 1st round Cromartie - Costs us a 2nd in a deep defensive draft While they may be good together and hide our issues on the front 7 they all suck in one way or another in my mind. /still bitter about the Steelers loss
it would be nice to have cro, but harris, edwards, and holmes are priorities. hopefully there's enough left to keep cro, but to me he's fourth in line.
The point of bringing in Cro was to help win the Super Bowl. If we had won the Super Bowl we would be having a different conversation imo.
I hate spending high round picks for one year rentals as much as anybody. We spent a high pick on Lito for one year and it looks like we will give up a 2nd for one year of Cromartie. I completely understand and agree with the fact that you don't keep a player around just because you spent a high pick on him. You have to put that down to sunk cost. However, I'm just tired of giving up these picks for one year players. Favre, Lito, and Cromartie in just the past 3 seasons. Tanny does a lot of great things for this team, but this is one area where he needs to improve. Hopefully if we get 3 out of these 4 guys signed long term. If we do that, we won't have much of a need to trade away draft picks for a one year plug in player.
No shit. It wouldn't matter if the Jets drafted one player last april if they won it all. But the thought process was that this is what the Jets needed to get past the AFCCG this past season and it wasn't the only piece they needed, they needed OLBs who are as dynamic as the CBs behind them.
I'm not the biggest Cro fan, but he did fill a serious gap in our defense from prior year. I think Wilson has potential to step up, but not willing to bet my season on it. At this point, I'd rather re-sign Cro than Edwards (unless there is a guy out there cheaper than Cro that can fill that gap, but i don't see it).
Cimini and the CB's Right now Kyle Wilson is catching up on Season 6 of Showtimes series Weeds (from his twitter). A bad show? Just annoying after 5 years. Do i smoke weed? Sure i do. Does he? Maybe. When you look lost on the field, i hope he just likes the show and not what its about. Im sorry if im hard on Kyle. I liked the pick. I was super excited to at least see him return kicks. Didnt even get that from him. Not happy.
If you actually smoke weed you would know that is pretty ignorant to show any concern about it stopping him from learning the defense or perfroming physically. Concern is fine, creating reasons to be concerned is silly.
I've found through my years that people who are not intelligent get really overwhelmed by weed. Its baffling
Out of curiosity I checked out how he did on his wonderlic. It sounds like he did well. I think he's going to be a good CB, he has one major thing he needs to fix and he'll be pretty damn good IMO - locating the ball. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/260/what-do-k-dub-and-tebow-have-in-common
I didn't think you were, but your post made me wonder what kind of brains the kid was working with so I checked it out.
