This place is dead, so let's liven it up a little with a mock for fun. I put little thought into his:

    1. 30) Justin Houston, OLB - heavy pressure packages will consist of a rookie who can at least get at the QB if not to him and make a play. He loves attacking the QB, so Rex will love him.

    3. 94) Ian Williams, DE/NT - he adds 7 lbs and he can play anywhere on the line. He's a run stopper and a 2-down guy for now, but he gives the right guy for the rotation.

    4. 125) Joe Lefeged, S - Special Teamer, Westhoff will like this kid. He adds to the rotation and can hit.

    5. 158) Markus White, DE/OLB - He's a project but he can play the multiple fronts that Rex's defense asks for.

    6. 189) Aldrick Robinson, WR - Groom him for the slot. Came from run and shoot offense. Fast kid. 4.4 at combine

    7. 197) Nick Bellore, ILB - 7th rounders rarely make a case to stick around. Let's hope he does.

    1) Love the Houston pick but he may not make it to #30

    3) Too high for Williams

    4) Could get a better safety

    5) White may not make it this far after the combines

    6) Johnson worth a shot

    7) Bellore who knows????

I really like the direction you went with the draft.

5 defensive players covering every level and a WR.

Maybe the 7th round could be used for a guy like Kai Forbath -- K -- UCLA.

Curious as to why you think that's too high for Williams.

    ^ I would too.

I've seen Williams nowhere but the 3rd round. He's a late top 100 on every big board.

And there aren't many other safeties that are really good in the 4th. I think the 2nd and 3rd rounds will be safety heavy. I'm intrigued by Robert Sands but he'll be gone by mid 2 early 3 the latest.

I would be fine with the Ian Williams pick assuming Jarvis Jenkins is off the board, Williams, Ellis(maybe), and Powe will probably be around for the Jets 3rd...

wouldn't mind seeing a rb addedin the 6th or 7th that can go to the p.s. as insurance since l.t. is getting up there and greene may get more carries this season then he's seen yet in his career

I think Jenkins goes before the very end of the 3rd round. Kendrick Ellis' immaturity will knock him into the later rounds. Powe I like too. Its amazing how far he's fallen this season. Bubble 1st rounder to 3rd day.

It crossed my mind, but if they are bringing LT back then carrying 4 RBs on the roster is tough when it comes to rotating them all in. McKnight will see 100 touches this season.

Likely, but you never know, projected 3rd rounders can become actual 4th rounders and such.

I don't understand what happened to Powe just over the last month or so, it's not like his intelligence, or lack there of, was sprung on everyone. He's a great football player who best days are ahead of him.

I think you meant to say Aldrick Robinson, the guy from SMU right?

The guys I want won't be there, so he's to me the default pick. I want Cameron Jordan - he went from a 20-30 pick to top 10-15 pick after the Senior Bowl. He owned everyone and it didn't look difficult. I want JJ Watt because he'd be an awesome 34 DE - he'll be gone 20th the latest. Kerrigan and Heyward won't be around either. Heyward may drop - but I'm skeptical for now. A coach is going to say "he'll never be inconsistent with me, I'll make him a player." That'll keep you away from the very end of the 1st.

Recently Houston has jumped to mid 1st round material. I hope he falls

    We can tell.

    Buh dum tsh.

But seriously, if those were our first three picks I'd be very happy with the way it turned out. Pouha's ability to play NT or End gives the Jets the freedom to go for a young player anywhere on the DL, and I like what Williams brings to the table. Houston in the first is solid, I might prefer another guy but the value is all about the same. Lefeged should be a really solid player in the NFL, and I think could seriously start somewhere in his rookie season. He came on really strong this season, and he's a naturally physical player.

White and Bellore fit the 34, and I'm on the bus for any SMU WRs to play in the slot.

what about drafting chris carter from fresno st. and dontay moch in either the 3rd 4th or 5th rounds?... im sure one of the can start and be a really good player. And it could save us our first round pick for maybe a DL

1, 3, and 4 are pretty much exactly how it should go. I'd like to go OL in the 5th or 6th though. Then, BPA. CHE are a great 1-2-3, would be nice to pick up Stuckey for cheap, or similar guy in the late rounds to groom as our future slot guy. So yeah, 6&7 are good. OL is all I'd change.

Carter is too small/light for the Jets, Moch is a 2-3 year project, but I could accept drafting him in the 4th-5th. At best, Moch would be a ST player for those first few years...

I'd love to see any of those guys fall to the Jets at #30, but like you don't expect to see any of them fall to us. Based on what we know at this point, I'd be very happy with Houston, but would also be happy with Taylor.

If houston is their I would be thrilled. I like how we basically address every need in this draft. I agree with MG that the Williams pick is a good one if certain guys are off of the board. I like taking a DB for one of our first few picks, but I wouldnt spend a 4th round pick on a guy whose best asset is his ability to play special team (unless he is a Devin Hester KR) I'm assuming he contributes more than just special teams
