    Reed, Sheard, or Beal?

It seems a lot of you are high on Reed but in other threads Jeremy Beal and Jabaal Sheard (this thread too) have been mentioned as OLBs the Jets should be targeting.

What are the tangibles/intangibles they bring and whom is the best bet for continued performance in the NFL? Which player would make the best/easiest/etc transition from college to NFL and which fits our system better. Does anyone have a preference? I'd like to see what the opinions are on these guys.

My speculation and questions are based on the info you guys provided in the Draft forum. I haven't done any outside research since I pretty much come here for my info. Just curious...

One thing about your drafts WW, they're always a lot more realistic than mine ever are. I go pretty much solely by who I'd want/draft, you actually take the time to consider who the jets are showing interest in.

The trade down would be ideal, though I will say I'd take Sheard at the end of the first over Reed and an extra pick. I'm fine with Reed if they get him, but I really love the idea of getting that true passrusher over someone who would probably give us better play at LB, a least in the short term.

Jenkins is a great fit, I'd love to have him.

Eric Hagg is a bit overrated here, but he's a smart, effective safety. My concern would be what else he'd bring to the table if added to the core we have. He's not going to show a ton physically, and I think his ideal future role is currently handled by Jimmy Leonhard. If they go safety past Rd 2, I'd hope to get an especially athletic or physical kid that needs coaching.

AS for the other picks, Sanzenbacher and Boling both stand out, not really sure why either of these guys aren't seen as better prospects. Boling might not have what it takes to play out at tackle, but a LOT of guys make that transition pretty easily.

Sanzenbacher is just a player, and will continue to be a good player in the NFL in his role. I hate to stereotype, but these shifty, pain in the ass white receivers tend to find good niches in the NFL.

    Appreciate the comments.

Sheard will bring a nasty attitude needed to our defense. I have no problem drafting Shead at #30. I think our board is slightly overvaluing or are ahead of the curve when it comes to Sheard in early Feb.

The reason for the trade down was to show Sheard only vs Reed/Jenkins. If nothing else it gets the draftniks on our site talking and thinking in another direction.

Jenkins, which you nailed in your mock, is probably an absolute perfect fit for the Jet's defense and what Rex wants to accomplish.

Hagg isn't a huge playmaker, but is a great team player and is loved by his Cornhusker players, Coaches and fans. His intangilbes make him a better player. Thrilled Bradway and the scouts were talking to Hagg.

Dane Sanzenbacher just catches the ball and gets separation....another Welker type player. Has to be drafted to the right team and used correctly to be effective.
