What I see unfolding and what I envision happening in the future is far different than anything we've ever experienced before with Jets season tickets. For that reason, we all have to considerably adjust our thinking in the way we see season tickets and being a season ticketholder.

You had a waiting list before. You certainly don't now. And tickets were highly sought-after before. They were reasonably priced, that's why. But they aren't anymore. In fact, they're overpriced. Overpriced right out of the factory (form the ticket office). One look at the market place tells you that. Seriously, all but the very fortunate (with reasonably priced but good seats)made money on their tickets this year if they had to sell (or wanted to sell).

Even owning season tickets does not carry the stigma it once had... "I've got season tickets!" "WOW... lucky you!"

Now it's, "Ha! And how much did you have to pay for those? Are you one of those guys who actually paid a PSL? And what about those preseason games? Those seats have to be expensive and what a loser! How much are the season tickets going for nowadays? What's that you say?.... over $125 per game plus parking? Why, if I took my 3 kids, that would be over $500! WTF kind of bargain is that?" No, it's not the same at all. In fact, it's a sucker's bet. You almost have to refrain from mentioning it nowadays lest you appear to be a real Patsy or Mark.

Here's the deal. The tickets (90%) of them, are overpriced in the marketplace. And this is with a team that has been playing some really, really great football. Winning seasons, back to back, with playoff appearances in a row, and all the hype... and the new QB... and the coach saying we're going to the Superbowl... and well... this is just unbelievable!

And still, way over market. Why not let the other guy buy these things and then go to the games you want to go to by buying HIS tickets on StubHub? Let HIM take the bath. Let HIM have to shell out the money every year. Listen, it's not like you're missing out on anything. You can always jump back in anytime you want. You call up the ticket office and you tell them you want back in. Or better yet, you take somebody's PSL off their hands after they damn-near have to declare bankruptcy.

It's not like those PSL's will never be available again. They'll be available all over the place, because the entire ball of wax is overpriced. This is why I say this is a completely different landscape than we've ever seen before. It will be many, many years before you see another waiting list for Jets tickets. Woody's gree will ever push the market envelope, pushing ticket prices higher and higher to the point where people with PSLs will be screaming to get TF out.

227 ONCE AGAIN GREAT STUFF and rite on the money, dead balls accurate! No wavering here, I have said it for months now I AM GONE! I luv the team, I have gone with season tickets every year since 87 ,finally got em in my name in 98.....but I am not flinching ,not looking back, no second thoughts,no maybe they will offer this or that, I am ONE AND DONE! You said it perfectly 227, they screwed me one too many times. Last year I never would have felt this way, I like many of you was so excited about the team, the new place but what a difference a year makes. They lied to me SO many times and jerked us all around in ways that were almost unimaginable----As I said NEVER did I think I could feel this way,,,BUT I DO! I am positive that not a few but many people feel just as we / I do but that has zero to do with my decision. I will still buy a couple of games but as you said I will $till $ave money .I will get the invoice and delete it or toss it however it comes because as I said before I am ONE AND OH SO DONE!

We would probably get better seats for the Super Bowl then our sesaons. The money is sickening period, 5k for a seat, but yeah, if we are gonna do it, make it special with a nice warm weather place that feels like a vacation, not just 10 miles from our home. OF course as Jet fans, we should take a Super Bowl game at Bergen Catholic on Oradell Ave at this point.

I can't argue one single point with you. This time its personal for people, its not about winning and losing, hell you are a veteran at that. Guys have been abused by an old friend, and then told I love you, thanks for everything. I park where I parked in the past and my parking is on the side where my seats are( Izod/ Met Life) , it worked our perfectly. And my seats are basically in the same spot as last year, except of course, everything is higher. If I had to walk around the stadium to get to my seats, or I was higher then row 10 I would feel like you, I could not take it anymore. Everything else sucks, sucks. I never question anyone that's been doing it for 20 years +, I just know for me, I got give it one more run, this has to be it dammit. Rex wants it as bad as we do and I want to experience a whole season ending in a Championship and I believe this is it, it has to be.

That'd be great - I'm just a few miles from there. You realize of course that they only have stands on one side of the field there so tickets would start at 45K each, but I'd get home quick - Oradell Ave to Kinderkamack Rd.

Savino's Pizza would be packed that weekend. The Orange Lantern would host a Black Eyed Peas SB show, and Radio-Row would be set-up at of course, The Fireplace. Francessa would like that. Pizza, Burgers, Fried Chicken, Diet Coke on draft....

No more Simple Simon though, 7-11 has taken over. Fatcesa would love the Fireplace, all the diet cokes and pickles you can eat. OL would be ground zero

Hey that was my High School great field when we vs Don Bosco tho they arent even a close amount of seats so people stand around the field. If we had a Superbowl there seats would go for 50k bleachers and 60k standing room once in a lifetime to stand right next to the field.

Just read this article by Gary Myers:

    http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f..._to_host_a_super_bowl_at_new_meadowlands.html

He spoke to Mark Lamping, CEO of the New Meadowlands Stadium. In reporting, Lamping stated the only modifications going to be made to the NMS for the 2014 Super Bowl will be: "We will probably have fewer seats than we normally have because some will be converted for media use. The only modification we are making to the building is to make it more comfortable for cold weather. Drapings will be done in the concourses to keep the heat in the concourses a little better than it typically does."

This quote tells me they are well aware of the fact the stadium was designed and built without regard for the cold air and elements but they will worry about it for the corporate types who be attending the SB in 2014.

Looks like I will also complain to this jabroni about stadium issues since he is the CEO of the joint and must report to both the Jets and Giants.

Here is an email address to contact the NMS: contact@nmstadco.com

    as expected

most of the grumbling and non-renewal talk is from upper deckers....

who, for the price of two packs of cigarettes a month (financed) could have upgraded to really good seats in the LLEZ as late as last August and enjoyed watching a pretty great season in excellent seats and done so for the next 20 plus years or so.

It will take the Jets around 11 minutes to find replacements for the upper deckers who bail and since the PSL non-luxury seats have now been sold out since early September, there was no need to keep 30 sales reps on the payroll.

They deserve a round of applause though

Unlike the Midgets who said to their STH -- take it or leave it -- the Jets gave their STH an opportunity to find the seats they wanted and even allowed 27K fans willing to sit in utterly crappy seats the opportunity to sit in them with no PSLs at all.

As a STH who would have been sentenced to the upper deck for the rest of his life in the old dump with the big blue GIANT signs on the outside and now sits in absolutely great seats instead-- all I have to say is THANK YOU MR JOHNSON

and also thanks again for no stupid unnecessary roof

For the record, there more than a dozen northern tier stadiums in the NFL and only Indy and Detroit have dumb roofs

Philly, Baltimore, Foxboro, Chicago, Seattle, Cincy, Pittsburgh, Washington, Denver, Green Bay, Buffalo, Cleveland all agree with the NMS

football=an outdoor game played in the fall and winter

You're a prime example of one of the Bandwagon Mousekateers I've been talking about... join date of September, 2010. What kept you away but finally brought you to the board in Sep? Daddy finally decided to pay for your PSL? Sanchez Franchize fetish? All the talk about kicking asses and going to the Superbowl? There must have been some reason why you decided to join in September, yet held off doing so until then. Or was it just that you really weren't that much of a Jets fan until September?

But now, as a newbie Bandwagon Mousekateer, you decide to bash the guys complaining. They have every right to complain. You weren't in this thread since inception and have no idea what the process was or how it evolved, yet you think you're a breath of fresh air with a new idea: "They should have paid up for the PSL like Daddy did and they would have been sitting next to lucky me!"

Walk in our shoes for 40 years, renewing your tickets and laying out hard-earned dollars every spring, with no Superbowl, and then come back and knock us.

PSL owners can't gripe about not returning because they are locked into a long term relationship. I for one am an upper-decker and am returning. I mainly do not complain but post to see if the folks in charge will upgrade the stadium to the status it was originally billed as.

PSL or not, the place is wide open to the elements and could have been designed differently to help ALL fans during those cold, windy days.

Rain, shine, cold, hot, I'm at the stadium regardless. But the billing leading up to the opening of the place made it seem like it was the second coming of Eden. It's not. Most agree we are happy not to have the blue and red seats but it still can improve.

Roof? Not a concern of mine. I like to advantage vs the warm weather/dome teams.

SG3 - Do you like the cold wind whipping through the lower level concourse?
