Great mock as always WW85, Ive been wanting to do a trade down type scenario but finding a trading partner that id feel would be best for the Jets was a hard task. Oakland is a great idea, even though im not 100% comfortable dropping that many spots out of the first.

I do have a few questions.

    1. Do you expect Reed to stay in this Middle of the 2nd area or will he go higher? IMO his senior bowl combined with his combine (which I feel he'll do exceptional in) may put him in the late first VERY early second, maybe even to the Pats unfortunately. So can we risk the trade down and hope for Beal or even Moch?

    2. Since RT is usually the position for a good run blocker, does Boling have the versatility and skill to create gaps for our RB? Im just curious not necessarily doubting him.

    3. I like the Taua pick, dont exactly know tons of info on him though but whats your opinion of a complete back like Brandon Saine? He's a big body who is a great blocker, has excellent potential for a late rounder and is speedy out of the back field and catches plenty of passes on the outside.

I agree with the other picks though , great stuff man!

    1) The Combine will answer any questions. They're are quite a few 3-4 OLBs ahead of Reed, so it may be hard to crack round 1.

    2) Boling is a solid player that has played LT, RT and guard at Georgia. I think he needs to bulk up more, and is more effective at RT or Guard. He played LT, cause the LT was injuryed. Could develop into a solid RT in the NFL.

    3) Saine is a good player, just a little too inconsistent. Has some good games and than is totally ineffective behind a really good O-line. Terrele Pryor doesn't help a RBs game.

Good mock draft. Don't know much about these players but based on what you've detailed, I think they'd be good fits. I'm a HUGE fan of trading down. Time to start replacing some of those picks and now that we're poised to make a run for years to come, I'd love to start just making the front 7 younger and getting some depth elsewhere.

    1) Yeah the combine should clear up tons of questions and set the real values of these guys.

    2) I see what your saying there, he can be a solid lineman almost anywhere you put him, Id like him as a Slauson kind of kid where we can groom him to start in 2 to 3 years.

    3) Saine needs a kick in the ass for sure but I think he can push McKnight for that 3rd String RB if LT returns. Hes a great change of pace guy though and can learn well from a guy like LT because they do many similar things in there game. Not sure if he's got a combine invite but IMO he could surprise many.

If Tomlinson returns, we won't need another running back.

If that's the case, let's trade Mark Sanchez and re-sign Brad Smith.

Eh true, but with Tomlinson's age, some concerns about Greene's health with the amount of carries he'll be getting, having a RB or two ( even a guy in the 7th) aint so bad. Although if this were the case Id either:

    A) sign a FA RB like Norwood or Brandon Jackson or draft a later round guy. Just to have 3 serviceable RB who dont have to be inactive every other week.
    or
    B) Draft a ILB, our most underrated need in the draft.

Again, 7th rounders are a gamble, drafting a kid with possible production wouldn't ruin anything. Worst case he's a good KR next to Brad Smith.

You gotta keep Sanchize for the Pro Set gimmick formation.

It will catch on, trust me...

Brandon Saine wasn't a good kick returner when given the chance at Ohio State - that's not going to change in the NFL.

If we're going to draft someone to play specials, it should be a guy that can have success covering kicks/punts.

Yeah, ya got me on that one, I thought he could be explosive enough to be a somewhat solid return man with his speed but his numbers were just awful. If he's there in the 7th though I really wouldnt mind him being added to the roster as an experimental back and seeing what we can get out of him.

Once again, we won't need another back like that. We already have a developmental guy on the roster.

In the seventh round, we should go after a special teams linebacker or defensive back - unless there's a halfway decent developmental offensive lineman around.

These are prospects that will more than likely not make any kind of impact on offense of defense, so you may as well bring in some players that can contribute on specials.

Who do you have in mind?

I mean most of these kind of DB's and LB's that are mostly for special teams go undrafted and can be picked up without wasting a pick.

I do like the point though that if theirs a developmental guard or center ( simply for depth) that would be good security for the future to put some true grooming years on a guy ( 2 to 3 years).

If you want to take an Ohio State player that underachieved, linebacker Brian Rolle is going to make a name for himself on special teams at the next level.

He's incredibly undersized and he knows it - the guy's been working with specific coaches on improving his block shedding so he can make plays on special teams.

UFC's Bruce Miller is another guy to keep an eye on.

South Carolina's Chris Culliver had an incredibly disappointing year mainly because of off-the-field issues. I still think he's one of the better athletes in the defensive back class though.

I remember Culliver from earlier last year, never knew what the hell happened to the kid. Dont you get concerned with his injuries though? Although I admit he's a solid tackler.

Also, UCF's Bruce Miller? Isnt he valued to be a middle to late rounder? (4-6)
I wouldnt mind getting him with our late 6th rounder but couldnt he be gone by our pick, even in the 5th?

Nick Folk was 9 of 10 over the last seven games including the playoffs.

Id rather go with Folk then an unproven Rookie kicker coming out of the draft, even a Free Agent kicker suggestion would of been a good idea but a rookie kicker, when we need someone who wont get so nervous in the playoffs or maybe even Superbowl? C'mon man...

After watching this season, no one can persuade me that Nick Folk is a LEGIT nfl kicker. God, everytime he comes out to kick you either have to hold your breath or look away. Nick Folk has an extremely short range when compared to top ten kickers and also has been highly inconsistent which is currently liability to this team. So yeah he may not get the nervousness and the chills like a rookie would but truth be told he may be one of the most inconsistent players in the nfl altogether. All I know is this, if Schotty isnt fired and Folk is still our kicker well dam take me to the nearest cemetary so i can bury myself alive.
