There is something to be said about run support as a 43 DE vs as a 34 LB, specifically starting further away from the lineman and in which gaps he needs to cover.

They might opt to deal for a veteran, but that doesn't mean he won't still be the pick. Their QB situation as a whole is horrific, just doing one of trading for a vet or drafting a kid early won't fix their problems.

As for Shanny and the WRs, if you keep waiting on the goose to lay golden eggs eventually they're going to end up on your face.

Agreed 100% and if I'm Shanahan my pick is Jones and if I'm Whisenhunt I want a future franchise signal caller. With all these mocks it comes down to what you would do versus what you think will happen. Right now, my guess is Arizona trades for Bulger, maybe drafts a Christian Ponder later on and hopes between him or Skelton one of them develops. Ditto for Shanahan, could see him going defense in the 1st and then try for a guy like Hankerson in the 2nd.

^If the Cards sign Bulger, I think that's there way of saying they still believe in Max Hall and they want to give him and Skelton time to develop. If not, Cam's going there.

It's hard to do a mock without free agency shaking things up yet. Needs are solved in free agency that might allow a team to go a different way. I would agree with you guys though, if Jones is on the board and Shanny passes thats a huge mistake. They don't have much a wideout core as it is and theyre going to lose Santana.

I'm perfectly cool with us taking 2 DL in this draft but not the first 3 rounds. We could use a safety, OLB, or maybe even RB,WR..depends on how the first part of the offseason plays out

Jabaal Sheard is an outside linebacker.

This would be an outstanding draft for us. Love the picks.

I'm becoming a Robert Sands fan. But I don't think he's going to last to the late 3rd with his size, speed and tackling ability.

Fucking shame. I didn't know where else to put this thought and I didn't want to keep it to myself.

You tremendously failed. You should prooooobably do at least 15 seconds of reading any thread on this board before you start throwing opinions out. Just a thought, though, feel free to keep sucking.

I now want tanny to get Denver as a trade partner to get more picks since they have multiple 2nd rounders. Dropping back to 33 and picking up an added 3rd isn't a bad idea. Or, hand them an additional pick atop the 1st rounder and take both their 2nd and get a pass rusher and a safety like Robert Sands.

Pass rusher and big safety in the 2nd round, with the rest of the picks shoring up DL and TE. That's if Landry isn't in the Jets future and Rex wants a kid to groom.

If the board breaks a certain way, it wouldn't be a bad move at all. Of course, I'm not sure how we drop back to 33 since that pick was traded from Carolina to New England, but 34 would be an easy drop and Denver would have to be desperate enough to move up 4 spaces to overreach the value and give us a 3rd on top of it. If there's someone they want, and we can wait past the Steelers and NE, it's a solid move.

I'd dearly love to see a Tanny trade down, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I'm not sure it's in his genes.

Well you listed all 3 players as DL. If one is an OLB or making the transition to LB then you should have put LB and not DL.

I don't watch college football. How would I know? Jeesh

You know what, you're right. What a dick I am for assuming that you had any knowledge of college football or the draft. Honestly, the gall I showed. Despicable. I mean, I should figure that most people that come in and comment on a mock draft in the draft forum have no clue about anything that's going on.

As for not listing Sheard as a LB, again, my apologies. I should have never thought that people would know something that's discussed in every thread on the page, or that they might take 8 seconds to look into it if it confused them.

To be fair, the guy DOES bleed green. He really can't see anything else.

ah damn typo. They put the 3 so close to the 4. Why? I heard they don't like each other. 4 keeps one-upping 3. ZING!

Steelers are proabably going DL/OL again. The Jets can get a good pass rusher at 34 and then a safety or a top DL with the mid-2nd rounder if they pull off that trade. Of course it would mean the Jets are giving up a 1st and something else for two 2nd rounders that close to one another. This trade is pretty unlikely, but I like what I see from Sands, and I don't think he's lasting to the late 2nd.

I'd be a big fan of this draft for the Jets.

Not just because he's in my avatar, but any reason why you don't have Justin Houston picked in the first 2 rounds?

Not a big fan of the reaches by STL and Det in Rd 1. I think both Houston, Beal and Ballard will go in the 1st 2 rounds, and I think Indy will need to go offensive line with one of their 2 first rounders. Other that looks pretty good.
