I always said he was an overrated QB who only happened to play on a good team all these years. Almost everyone else said he was an elite QB "who just wins."

I think he's finally been exposed for who he is. A slightly above average QB who's nothing special. Doesn't belong in the same conversation as Manning, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Vick, etc.

I'm sure glad he choked in the AFCCG when converting that fourth down. Ben's a great quarterback. He sucks in the Super Bowl thought

    You can't win them all.

Big Ben is not a choker because he lost one Super Bowl

What happened to, "he's clutch," and "he just wins?" Is he still an "elite QB" who belongs in the same conversation as Manning and Brady?

I'm no Rapistberger fan, but he's 2 for 3 in the Super Bowl. Manning is 1 for 2. Manning hasn't done a thing in the playoffs compared to his regular season greatness.

Hmm I forgot about Manning and Brady's perfect record in Super Bowls. My bad.

Brady couldn't lead the undefeated Pats past the Giants. Manning lost to the Saints. Even the elite ones have bad games.

If the Steelers had better corners than Anthony Madison and William Gay who knows?

Let's not forget he was up against another elite quarterback in this one. Not an excuse, someone had to lose this game.

The ultimate dagger was Mendenhall fumbling the ball away when we were driving again. Totally reminiscent of Super Bowl XXX

    In Roethlisberger's 3 Superbowls:

    69.9 passer rating. 3 TDs, 5 INTs.

Still think he's an elite QB?

The first 4 words of your post answers that question for me before the stats do.

No excuses. Mike Tomlin made no excuses. You shouldn't either.

The Steelers were not good enough this year. It is that simple.

    Towels Not Quite Terrible Enough

(By the way, us Jets fans can use excuses. Our team's history is such that without excuses we'd be even more miserable than we already are most of the time.)

Peyton Manning has an 85.4 rating, 2 TDs and 2 INTs in his 2 Super Bowls

Tom Brady has a 94.5 rating, 7 TDs, and only 1 pick in his 4 Super Bowls

No, Ben Roethlisberger is not in the same category as either of them. He played badly enough to lose 2 Super Bowls (remember his he had a 22 rating and 2 picks against Seattle). He did play very well in Super Bowl 43, but that aside he's been the beneficiary of playing on a team with a very good defense and running game. He's not an elite QB at all, and I'm sick of everybody saying he is.

There are at least 10 active QBs I'd take over him.

Who came closer to beating the Packers? Mexico or Big Ben?

HINT: One lost by 6 and threw 2 picks, the other lost by 5 and had the ball on the Pack 27 yard line and threw his only pick. You decide

Not making excuses. It's a fact our secondary wasn't good enough to stop the Packers. I am hopeful the front office corrects the problem in the off season so we can gear up and go after the Lombardi again.

You are entitled to your opinion. The plays Ben makes on the ground don't factor into his passing rating.

Yeah, that was the problem as I saw it. I thought GB was going to exploit that secondary. My prediction was that GB was going to score over 30 points and would not run the ball more than 15 times.

Super Bowl 19 was the first one I saw. Super Bowl 45 was one of the easiest ones to call for me.
In fact, all three recent Green Bay Super Bowls I nailed. Yes, I actually expected the heavy underdog Broncos to defeat the Packers in a 31-27, 34-28, 30-24 type game. I told a bunch of people that Denver would win that game, including my Steelers fan roommate who was in tears after coming home from the AFC Championship Game. Unfortunately, nobody had the balls to bet me. I recall being too giddy to sleep well the night before that Super Bowl. I spent that night in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere in West Virginia. The next day I was back in Morgantown and watched the SB in a dorm room in what amounted to the only real Super Bowl party I ever attended. I really had no choice being away at school.

I dont like Ben (at all) but he is pretty much the opposite of a choke artist.
