It's a regular season award tho dude. The voting is done in the regular season. I hate Belichick but I can be fair, he outcoached the rest of the league this year.
Tom Brady outplayed the league. It's odd when you have the offensive player of the year on the same team as the HC of the year. Being a great HC usually means not having the best offensive player in the league on his team. lol Once you get passed that you look at the defense, and it was one of the worst in the league. Only reason Bill won is the record. As awards go this could go down as the best team in NFL history that was ONE & DONE. lol
Belichick had nothing to do with Brady's season? And crazy as it may seem, their defense only gave up 9 more points than ours did. I'm done with this topic, I think he deserved the award others obviously don't. I don't think he should have won in a landslide but considering it was a regular season award, remember what you thought of them at the end of the regular season.
Yes, but when you have Brady the defense is not under pressure as much. IMO Tomlin or McCarthy deserved it over him.
Nobody else in the NFL would have the balls to trade a first ballot HOFer coming off a 1400 yard season in October for (basically) Deion fucking Branch. And nobody else would have gone on to win 14 games that year too. Sure, Brady helped, but c'mon. This team was Brady, Belichick, and a bunch of scotch tape. Anybody who brings up that they went one and done in the playoffs as a reason why he didn't deserve this should be shot.
Fuck Asante Samuel. Fuck him. If he shows up to the super bowl, this never gets talked about. I would rather have Kyle Arrington. No I'm not bitter.
yea and if the Jets didn't forget how to tackle in the first half against the Steelers they'd be in the superbowl this weekend. They did miss the tackles.
raheem morris should have won.half his team never played a snap in the NFL prior to this year, literally. they finished with the same record as the packers bunch of horseshit
STFU. No shit a quarterback makes the team better. I'm saying that the league is so passing-oriented these days that a squad can be completely obliterated by injuries (Packers) and make the superbowl. If Aaron Rodgers gets hurt for considerable length, they don't make the playoffs. A quarterback has always been the most important player on the team but in today's terms the quarterback is disproportionately valuable versus the rest of the squad.
I kind of hate you for posting that. (J/K.) Any individual awards are nice, but it's like getting socks for Christmas instead of fun stuff. Personally I didn't expect the Patriots to do any better than 10-6 this year, and that felt a little too optimistic in August. Regardless of how the season ended, anyone who predicted 14-2 was either crazy or wears Patriots feetsie pajamas at night. (No Wes Welker joke there.) It'd be easy to make a case for probably a half dozen or so other coaches. But keep in mind this is an AP award and it really has nothing to do with the league at all.
What if we mentioned that he accomplished this two years in a row? Slightly OT, but he seems to look more like a homeless lesbian every time I see him lately.
Awww I see, so your saying in a pass oriented league, which every talking head calls the NFL, the guy who throws the ball is important to success. Ok got ya. Ground breaking idea there.
i still do not get how he won that award when mccarthy brought a struggling team to the superbowl, or raheem morris that took a down & out franchise back to respectability.
