I've realized that no matter what the roster is, who the coach is, what kind of homefield advantage you hold, etc.. nothing matters more than an elite franchise QB. Packers - decimated with injuries: Aaron Rodgers leads the pack to SB Patriots - also have injury issues, along with a very young team - Brady leads them to 14-2 Colts - injuries yet again, Peyton manning leads them to a division title yet again Steelers - depleted secondary and terrible offensive line: Roethlisberger is in the superbowl and on a lesser note, Buccaneers - find a franchise QB in Josh Freeman : turn around a team that was horrid last year Chiefs - Cassel shows he has the skills to be elite: turns the Chiefs into a contender (division winner as well)
The NFL did not suck the Patriots dick here. This is an Associated Press award. The league did not give Belichick this award. There is no joke. It is a regular season award. The voting was finished before the playoffs started. McCarthy taking his team to the SB and Ryan taking his team to the AFC Championship Game were not in play here.
Yeah, that's the sputum that that TonyIommi fag was trying to gurge on this board after the Jets beat their overrated asses in the divisional round.
you can't rebuild with Tom Brady. http://www.nfl.com/videos/new-england-patriots/09000d5d81e14a12/2010-AP-Coach-of-the-Year i love when he says "oh my gawwwwd" at :46 btw yeah sure Belichick deserved it i supposed, but how in the world does Mike McCarthy get ZERO votes?
this was bellicheats best coaching job since 01, imo (maybe better since he didnt have cameras this time) ... reloading a team on the fly like he did, i think he deserved the award
Speaking of regular season awards, are we still gonna hear all year about Brady's ongoing home win streak? Or will two straight ass-whoopings when it matters finally get them to shut up about it?
Not one vote for Rex Ryan? You got a second year coach who makes his second consecutive conference title game with a second year QB, and he doesn't get ONE vote???
If you have Tom Brady playing a coach should not get shit. His defense sucked balls, this is a complete joke. Should've been Tomlin or McCarthy IMO. Not because they're in the SB but what they had to deal with. Steelers opening the year without Rapesgirlsburgers and the parade of QBs that played in that time. Also having to deal with the crap that Ben did bring to the team. McCarthy, 18 IR players, at least 6 were starters. Craziness- I hate that this is just a regular season award. The whole point of the regular season is to get to the post-season. How is Rex not even talked about? We had big injuries too. 2nd year QB, all the outside distractions and we still had a great season.
Rex Ryan should not have been in the running for coach of the year. In the biggest game of the regular season, the Jets got blasted by 42 points.
If Sparano gets the Dolphins to 8-8 aka an improvement over their last 2 seasons he should be in the running because technically he shouldn't even care about this job. As soon as the next big name coach is available next year their fag owner is gonna go after him
One game determines all that? How about how they bounced back after 2 rough losses and went to Pitt and won for the first time in Jets history? Having a top 5 defense again. Rex has been more involved with Sanchez too.
im gonna go with this. i see th eline of thinking cause of when moss left everyone laughed. but belicheck also got bounced out the big dance early by the same team he supposedly put back in their place on MNF
It's a regular season award. Rex's coaching job in the regular season was not the best in the NFL. It wasn't even close. The Jets didn't win their division and were the #6 seed in the playoffs.
So, your basicly summing up that good QB play makes a team better? Is your next news flash that Man has invented fire or that Al Gore Created the intenet?
