In my opinion, Pittsburgh DOESN'T get out of Indy this year. And if they somehow did, they sure as hell don't get out of New England. But, that doesn't matter. They had the Ravens and Jets at home.
If you flip the schedule and put the Steelers first then that Pats, I have no doubts that the Jets would be playing this week. The let down from the Pats game was so unbelievable. The Jets thought they had it in the bag. Then they got a kick in the face and when they started to actually play it was too late.
The Jets beat a "choking" Peyton Manning with 15 players on IR by 1 point. Does that count as an impressive win?
They would have beaten Indy, NE owns them though and I doubt they get out of NE. true but peyton had never been to a SB by 2005, he has been to 2 since that point so he's still a choker but not quite the choker he once was. Indy had more than enough talent to win at home, the difference in that game and the Pitt game was Ben got TWO 1st downs late to seal it and Peyton couldn't get one to seal it.
The Steelers are entitled to say whatever they want about us since they were the winners & we were the losers :jets:
And this is often his downfall. I still can't grasp his troubles in the POs. Maybe with Clark in the game it would have made a difference. I can't remember, did Collie and Wayne play? That's truly a "team" that consists of a QB and a few WRs and not much else.
Yes, and they will. They are not the "class" of the NFL they proclaim themselves to be. For a team that has been there so often, they don't quite act it.
He still had top talent around him on O. It wasn't top 2-3 like usual but it was top 10, most teams don't have a Reggie Wayne/Pierre Garcon type of duo and Jacob Tamme isn't Dallas Clark but he's pretty good. There is always an excuse for peyton. I think if you put Ben or Brady on the 00s Colts teams then Indy has 3-4 SB titles at least.
The Steelers were given almost no chance to beat those Colts in the playoffs that year. The Colts had crushed the Steelers earlier in the year. Sound familiar? The Steelers beat the Colts system. just like the Jets beat the Colts and Patriots system in the playoffs. Of course nothing I say will stop you from arguing against what I say.
Is that pre- or post-Pollardized Brady? Because the current Playoff Tom Brady looks nothing like 00s Tom Brady in the playoffs. He has been as far from clutch as you can get.
It doesn't sound like trash talk to me, it sounds like the truth. It better be fucking personal next time.
Let me ask you this (or any Steelers fan reading the thread), whats it like winning so much? As a fan who has never won a Super Bowl, I wonder what its like to go so much. 6 Titles, possibly a 7th in 4 days. Or do you think its the same as being a fan of the Jets or Chargers?
Defense wins championships in the playoffs and the Super Bowl. The Colts focus so much of their FA signings and draft picks to give Peyton an offense to make him look good. If they actually invested in a defense they might have more titles. Of course then Peyton might be exposed a bit, and they wouldn't want that now would they. I still find it amusing that Eli Manning won a Super Bowl at a much earlier time of his career than his big brother.
LOL, don't EVER say that to a Colts fan, they'll flat out have a stroke. He has had some dynamic duos going back to Harrison/Wayne and they don't seem to skip a beat at WRs. Peyton is their God and he can do no wrong. Even though their are other flaws on that team, Peyton hasn't come through at times when he should and you're spot on...there's always an excuse for Peyton.
your team is old and is going downhill you were extremely fortunate to win that against the ravens because you played like shit....
LOL, I'm hoping this is a sarcastic question cause I wouldn't know how to answer that. I don't know, I've been here for all the SBs from the 70s-present and they usually get in it when my expectations are low and I don't expect much for the season so I'm usually shocked, but then they miss the POs the following year when I expect them to repeat, lol.
The Colts D's have been good in postseason for the most part. They lost in '05 to Pitt b/c peyton was awful, the D did a pretty good job against the Steelers. I get that same reaction here b/c obviously we hate Brady but I'm honest, as much as it may pain me I can be honest evaluating players and teams. I hateed losing to you guys but you beat us fairly, you were better last week. I think our teams are very close but when it mattered most your team got the job done and I tip my cap.
