Not local, but the entire length of I-70 in Missouri from Kansas City to St. Louis (250 miles) is closed from the midwest blizzard.
Ya. Right after I get the snowblower, but after I find a job. :drunk: In the meantime, I find white trash ways to create work arounds. Larry the cable guy has nuthin on me.
Expected Ice accumulations. Anything around .50 will be a disaster. 1.0? Cant even imagine because I have never seen that before. Power outages galore. http://i.imwx.com/images/maps/tropical/map_spectrop17_ltst_6nh_enus_600x405.jpg
Current radar...lower left is the storm approaching. Updates itself. Good keeper link for the overnight and tomorrow http://www.wunderground.com/radar/r...7&lightning=0&smooth0&showlabels=1&rainsnow=0
Plowed and worked the storm all day. Storm consisted of snow not ice. We are supposed to have a total accumulation of over 2 feet in my town. This has been a great winter snow wise. 3 years ago we had a snowstorm the last day of March that produced over a foot of snow. I'm hoping we continue getting bombed through April this year.
^If I was in the plowing game and making bank on every one of these storms I would be hoping for more too. looks like I am safely in the quarter inch or less zone for the ice. sucks to be the rest of you.
The reason you are in that zone UK is because they are expecting more snow than ice...not sure if that will be the case. I should have clarified....thats a weather channel map. Weather channel is a joke compared to the info thats out there on the net. This is the widest ice zone I have ever seen im my life. It stretches from central Maryland thru PA, NJ, Conn and southern NY state. Where that actual zone sets up is a huge guess. You will have a real tough time up in your area UK.
Power outage link...first being reported in Bergen County...unfortunately, this thing will probably light up sometime tomorrow morning. http://wp1.coned.com/or_stormcenter/default.aspx
Good thing I don't have shit to do tomorrow. I would rather see snow than ice. If it snows I snowblow at somepoint during the day and that's that. If we get a shit load of ice I could very well be sitting in the dark all day.
I reside in The Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. I am a half hour East of the NY border and can be in Albany in about an hour by car. I am a half hour South of the Vermont border as well.
Hey PH where do you live again? I don't think you've ever mentioned it, definitely not in several other threads all over the forum.
Nothing really happen tonight. The roads are just a wet mess (im 40 minutes north of NYC). Its going to rain tomorrow?
oh yeah...thats a big snow spot for sure. You must be getting ready for retirement after this winter PH.
Not for long TG...count to 100 and it will be there. http://www.accuweather.com/us/radar/sir/nyc/radar.asp?play=true
