Take a look at the "How do we Reload the Defense" thread to see how all the trades have effected our current roster on the defensive side of the ball. It's nice to get quality players but you have to be able to maintain a quality roster across the board.
This is the stupidest load of shit I've ever read. Trading our remaining picks to get Ngata will solve all our defensive problems! Problems with old DLine? BOOM! New DLineman! Problems with our OLBs not generating the pass rush? BOOM! Haloti Ngata IS the pass rush! Problems with safety depth? BOOM! Haloti Ngata intercepts everything at the line of scrimmage! Need a new RT to replace Woody? FUCK THAT! Haloti Ngata runs every INT back for a touchdown! No need for offense! Quality over (necessary)quantity! /Sarcasm
Haha, but adding Ngata to Dbrick, Mangold, Holmes, and Cro would lock up 5 of prob the 10 best talents of the 2006 1st round draft! (you can argue Mario and Deangelo Williams, Cutler, Hali, Jon Joseph, and maybe Greenway)..
The NFL is a passing league nowadays so if we can lock up two shut down corners we have to do it. besides our lb's and linemen do a good job stopping the run anyway. the only problem is that we may lose david harris, or either holmes or edwards.
So that puts the Jets near the top of the list. Lets offer him 4 million a year and see what happens!
And Revis would make about 3 times as much? That doesn´t sound like a good base for a relationship between those two.
You haven't watched football for that long (Reggie White? LT?) and he's going to get tagged anyway. He might actually be worth the two first round picks it would take to sign him though
Hopefully we will address the DL and LB issues during the off season. That seems to be the area where we have the best opportunity to make impactful improvements.
