Tuesday: Lee Smith TE.....Marshall TE, good size and one of the best all round TE's in this class, very good blocker. Could be a solid pick for the Jets in a middle round. Cameron Jordan DE.......due diligence Kendric Bunkley CB.......North Carolina CB. Wednesday: Ryan Kerrigan DE/OLB......Bradway showed a lot of interest Eric Hagg S........Nebraska Safety, very intelligent player Phil Taylor NT.........moving up and could be a late Round 1 pick.
Some of you guys may question where I got this info. One was from Scott Wright's site. The other is from someone I know that is very reliable and I trust 100% and is in Mobile.
Kendric Burney's one of the most underrated corner prospects in this draft. I doubt he falls that far, but he'd be a nice developmental pick up anytime after the third round. In my opinion, Eric Hagg would be an upgrade over Eric Smith and/or Brodney Pool. He's a big bodied safety that's very good against the run. ...and like you said, he's a smart player. I'd be happy if we took a big tight end late in the draft. Ben Hartsock and Matt Mulligan need to be replaced with players that can actually contribute in the passing game. Hartsock's a good blocker, but he's worthless as a receiver. Depth behind Keller is becoming an issue.
Also per Scott Wright's site: Brooks Reed - OLB/DE, Arizona Cedric Thornton - DT/DE, Souther Arkansas Kelvin Sheppard - LB, LSU Von Miller - OLB/DE, Texas A&M
Academic all american, student of the game. Jet's showed a lot of interest today. Dane Sanzenbacher was a late addition and played well today, Jets were showing some mild interest.
At the moment, I have a feeling Brooks Reed might be our guy. This is kind of surprising news from Mobile: We can cross him off our list. Kelvin Sheppard would be a great fit as a ILB in Ryan's scheme. Thornton's got great size. It'll be interesting to see how he performs against top competition.
If Reed keeps playing like this for the rest of the week and during the game, his stock will soar. He's going to kill it at the combine. Now that Beal's struggling, guys like Reed and Sheard have an opportunity to jump him before April.
I think Sheppard had some injuries and could have/almost declared last year. Around 6'2' 250 and could add more to his frame. Solid ILB, contingency to Harris' signing. I'm not a huge LSU pipeline fan to the NFL, but KS is a player I like.
I like it when we consider Pac 10 players. It means I can actually be somewhat knowledgeable on this part of the site. Seems a bit high to me, but I wouldn't mind it if we had a few options at the spot and were able to trade back a bit and recoup a pick. Getting an extra mid-rounder would REALLY help with some of our FA money problems.
Think he lasts to the end of 4, or more likely 3rd rounder? Either way, with 2012 being a likely attempted renegotiation year on Scott's contract, a young ILB would be incredibly useful.
I don't think I'd have an issue with Taylor at 30. He's pretty fluid for a 340 lb man. I wish Andy Dalton would find his way to the 5th round. Shame he'll go top 70. Kerrigan looked good standing up today. That's nice to see. I don't think he drops beyond 20.
The Von Miller thing is kinda shocking, I wonder who would who falls back if he does go top 5? I'm all for the Reed pick if it happens, especially after his hot start at the Senior Bowl practices...
I like Ryan Kerrigan a lot. Maybe the best pass rusher in this draft. From what I have seen he plays aggressive and strong and not only can he rush the passer but he plays the run well too. Unfortunately I think he's gone in the top 15.
