Vote. Lets see who you as the true Jets fans want the team to keep. (Some are unrealistic, I know, but this is just for fan voting)
Obviously I'd like to keep them all but Folk and Pryce, but that ain't happening. I picked Holmes, Braylon, Harris and Hunter (not even sure if that's possible).... Hunter played well in Woody's absence (despite the bonehead play tipping) and might be a potential stop-gap until/if Ducasse can take over, or maybe even turn out to be a reliable starter. I think Woody will be let go.
I picked Ellis for leadership and still want him for one more year, then Bray and Holmes for Sanchez, then Harris because hes a beast, then finally Cro but he needs to fix that holding shit and learn to bump and run.
I didnt want too start another thread so. I truly believe in this organization, we are most definatly heading in the right direction. we must sign our key free agents, and add a true pass rusher. for the first time in the history of the nfl, a head coach/qb, each in there first two seasons made the conference championship game. so dark siders go ahead and say, we still didn't win a super bowl, but for once you can believe no?!?!
eh you never know, hopefully Ellis can help out and sign for Vets min or close to that. And theres alot of FA kickers out there that could replace Folk, but he's most likely our main back up plan with all the guys we need to sign.
David Harris. And anyone else that votes different is just plain clueless. David was our TEAM MVP, voted on by the players. Does anything more need to be said?
I don't dislike anybody that I didn't vote for, but the 3 that I picked are the most important to keep this machine going forward. Hunter is somewhat surprising, but the dude stepped in and played better than probably anybody could've hoped. One of those underrated guys that are important pieces, kind of like Devito stepping up last year...
Pryce , Pool, and Cro. Pryce is ancient and can only do one thing - jump the snap count and get a hurry or pressure for 17 snaps a game. I love what he brought to the table short term, but I'm not keeping a season of that on my roster for DL when DL is a priority this offseason. Pool played well in the 2nd half, but I think he's replaceable. Cro is going to be a money casualty unless he wants to come back for cheap - I don't think his agent agrees with me. He'll walk. Everyone else can return. It'll be interesting to see if Ellis returns as a Jet as a discount, or takes market price somewhere else. I do fear him going to a division rival for one year before he retires. Or, he returns down south near his home in North Carolina by playing for a team in the south in the NFC.
I don't see a surefire replacement out there. Unless there is a guy who is more consistent and can get a deeper kickoff, fine. But I'm not taking some dude who's been with 5 teams. One thing I'll add - Folk leaves when Westhoff does. I think only Westy can get the most out of Folk. Do we draft a guy in the 7th? I'm a fan of drafting a kicker in the last part of the 7th where they belong.
He had a pretty good post-season but hes really shitty in Cover situations and breaking on routes, Im hoping between we can draft somebody and have Leonhard and Smith work for now. By the way, isn't Eric Smith a free agent this year?
Honestly we need to keep our offense in tact. We have a good thing going in all phases. Continuity will only bring further success. However, on defense we need to start reloading our front 7. D line, and LB's are major concerns and safety is an important area of need as well. I think our draft should focus on those areas.
