Oh yeah, I know he's had some success with it, but I think that it translates a lot easier to rushing as an OLB than as a 43 end.

FWIW I don't think he'd start as a rookie at 4-3 DE, but as a rotational player, which I think that would be best case scenario at OLB year 1. He'll need solid coaching at either position...

Agreed, and I think he'd have to have a stellar offseason to pass a number of other guys in the hybrid rusher role (certainly very possible if he is as dominant in the weight room as people say).

Guys(Electric, Hurricane), since you are far more draft inclined than I am these days and I'm only getting my first look...

What are your thoughts on the Arizona defensive ends, Brooks Reed and Ricky Elmore? Are they anything more than athletes at the next level? Elmore looks like a pure speed guy to me, and I haven't really watched enough of Reed to know anything about him other than the fact that he's likely to be overhyped simply because he looks like Clay Matthews.

Ricky Elmore is a beast. In my opinion, he's a better fit in the 43. He's got a non-stop motor and that shows when you look at his stats. He's had double digit sacks two years in a row.

Brooks Reed is a serious sleeper. I've heard that he can run in the 4.5s and bench 430 pounds. If he pulls shit like that off at the combine, he'll fly up boards. He's a workout warrior that hustles his ass off during games. I respect that.

Stanford OLB Tom Keiser could be a late round pickup. He transitioned from the 4-3 to the 3-4 relatively comfortably last year, serving as one Stanford's main pass rushers. Most of his stats come as a down end in the 4-3, but he produced 5 or 6 sacks and an INT in the 3-4. His size is solid at 6-4, 245, but he looks like he has a frame to put on size.

How fast is Sheard? We need to add a lot of speed to our LB core.

I'd really like Elmore if I were a 43 team that needed a late round, high motor passrusher. He just seems like a really good guy to have in a rotation.

Reed has more ability in a 34, and like Mr E said is supposed to be putting up monster workout numbers. If he does he'll look even more like Clay.

Von Miller's got an impressive reach, but he's incredibly light for the 3-4.

He weighed in at 237 pounds today at the Senior Bowl.

So, as of right now Miller is listed at 6'2 237.

Been watching some Bruce Miller (UCF) highlights. He's a 4-3 DE so really an OLB for our purposes. 6-2' 250, maybe a little small but this guy has some motor. He isn't an NFL prototype but he has the stats and is a solid tackler. I think he's worth a shot 7th rounder or as an UDFA.

What worries me the most about Miller is his frame. I'm not sure he can put on the extra weight needed to play OLB and stay healthy.

His closing speed is what the Jets are looking for. He's a nasty motherfucker.

I've come to like him over time. Initially my gut feeling didn't like him, but I read up on him and it changed. The kid is just nasty, and the OLBs need to get nasty. We don't have a mean LB besides Bart Scott.

Watching Von Miller, he doesn't seem like he has the frame to get much larger and it doesn't seem like he has a vast repertoire of pass rush moves. Is he a pure speed rusher?

    this right here.

you take either and dont look back at this point if thats the case. least IMO. it would be nice for rex to start using some more confusing coverage schemes via use of only 4 rushers as opposed to 5 and 6.

either one should give him a shot at doing so.

If Von Miller falls to the teens, could you guys see Tanny trading up again to snag him, like he has been known to do in years past?

Von Miller looks like he's too light to play in our scheme.

Like a few others have said already, he doesn't look like he can get much heavier.

Chances Von Miller ends up as a straight up 4-3 OLB?

Miller is very good in rushing the passer. Sometimes overpursues and is out of position.

I question his ability in being a runstopper.

Miller played in a 4-3 scheme a few years ago before the coaching change. Was still known for being a rusher, not good in coverage and stopping the run.

Seems to me, Miller would be best as 3-4 pass rusher, a 4-3 team could draft him.

As Mr E mentioned, Miller may be too light for Rex's defense, but another 3-4 team might consider him.

Just a though, I guess I'm a "mad scientist" when it player position projection.

He did look good covering the RB during practice though...

I guess he fits in Wade's new 3-4 they are trying to develop in Houston. I still would not having him in green, but for my personal preference, I guess Jeremy Beal is a more than okay consolation prize.
