The Steelers CAN beat the Jets, but NOT the Pats ???

Cowher's only ring is also because the Steelers didn't have to go through the Pats that year.

This season all 4 teams in AFC & NFC championship games were defeated by the Pats. Except for the Ryan brothers, BB & Brady were unstoppable this year. Only other team I think could've beaten the Pats in playoffs is Packers (with healthy qb).

 

Same thing happened in 08. The Titans whipped the Steelers like week 15. But then the Ravens upset the Titans and then lost to the Steelers.

God truly loves the Steelers.

& we all know if the Steelers had to go New England they woulda got whipped all over the place. Hopefully the Packers defeat the Steelers because they don't deserve shit.

Cower is an ass. Last week on the radio he picks the Jets then pre-game on CBS he switches to Steelers. Make your mind up and stick with it.

I feel like the Jets beat themselves. We played great for one half but, were just a no show the first two quarters.

Steelers have an excellent run defense. But, this was a winnable game for us.

Next year. Just heard there were some Steelers doing the 'Airplane' by the Jets bench near the end of the game. Now, it's personal and next season we will beat them to a pulp.

 

Did you not see the game they played this year? Pitt does not match up well against the Pats offense, they spread them out and force them out of their 3-4 blitz scheme, and force the ball down field against their weaker secondary, and Brady abuses Polamalu by looking him off the primary target.

 

I lived in Pitt for awhile (it sucked) and I know a lot of people from Pittsburgh. They absoulutely hate NE. They think that spy gate cost them a super bowl in 2004. They are convinced that NE knew what plays they were running or at least it seemed like they knew.

I know they hate baltimore, but they always get the best of them. For some reason though they have had serious trouble with NE and Pitt fans feel that NE has cost them multiple championships.

 

Match ups.
NE absolutely owns Pittsburgh over the last several years (something like 8-1).

 

They just match up better against the steelers than we do at the moment(And for the past decade basically). Also, tom brady is much more capable of taking advantage of weak secondaries while mark is only in his second year and still learning.

 

This is why this game pisses me off. They have the blueprint and have had it for awhile but the Jets didn't even bother taking from it. We have the WRs and a TE to spread them out and also the speed and height over the middle but yet we rarely attacked the middle of the field past 10 yards.

We kept running into the heart of the D as opposed to its weakness on the edge.

Yes we did the Steelers a huge favor by beating the Pats, they would of got destroyed.

 

which is mindboggling that the steelers haven't even seen the pats in the playoffs in any run to the super bowl this decade. It actually irritates me that they have won 2 rings and are going for the 3rd, and haven't seen the Pats at all.

NE beat the Steelers in multiple AFCC games (in Pittsburgh). As many SBs as the Steelers have gone to, NE has knocked them out of several others.

I think GB is going to smoke Pittsburgh, for what its worth.

 

Steelers can't play pure coverage as well as the Jets. So Pats give Steelers more problems. Unfortunately, the Jets can't run against the Steelers nor are we very effective against the Steelers rush so we don't match up well against them.

If the Ravens had won that game...if the refs had not robbed the Ravens...then maybe...whatever.

 

I guess it's lucky that the Steelers did beat the Jets. You guys lost to the Packers this year while we beat them last year. Or maybe it would of been personal with Rex and all. I guess next year it will be personal with us. Have a nice off season. Hope you guys lock up Holmes and Edwards to long term contracts because you deserve each other.

Yeah, we are short changing ourselves because some people think pats match up better against the steelers than we do. That doesn't mean we thought we were going to lose to them. I as with a lot of the people on this board thought the jets were going to win, but they didn't. What does that have to do with the Pats dominating the steelers? Nothing..
