gohlston had a great year in my opinion he had a 20 sack season at white castle but if your talking about his season with the jets its basiclly what happens after that 20 sack at white castle. shhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttt
Vernon Gholston is so awful that the only good rush he's got in 3 years was from eating too much Halloween candy.
for some reason this caused me to laugh really hard. I'm so glad other people have the same irrational hatred for this dumbshit douchebag that I do. Oh and Vernon Goldston's so bad he has less career sacks then Drew Coleman. I'm not even trying to be funny, that's upsetting. EDIT: Just saw JFaulks post. Good call bro.
Lame, but Vernon Gholston is so bad that when he made one of his 12 tackles in 2010, my brother put "Vernon Gholston actually did something today!" as his Facebook status.
At what point in time did being signed by the Patriots become synonymous with that type of production from an otherwise completely unproductive player? Isn't this the same Patriots who couldn't get any production out of the hottest defensive commodity in FA for 2007 - Adalius Thomas? How did Laurence Maroney, Chad Jackson, and Ben Watson fare under the masterful watch of the Hoodie? They did get a bunch of rookies to over-perform this year, but let's not make them out to be something they're not.
Because instead of being an impact player on a championship team, he's turned into a colossal bust. You can make a case that he has been the WORST draft pick in Jets history (certainly the most costly), considering that if he could do what he was drafted for, we probably would have been in 1 or 2 Super Bowls.
Gholston is so bad if he starred in the "George Tate" commercials he would get leveled by the employees.
I don't see how you could make that argument in the face of the Dewayne Robertson fiasco. We could have had a combo of 2 of the following players instead of DRob: Ty Warren Troy Polamalu Dallas Clark Nnamdi Asomugha I doubt anybody was stupid enough to give up what we gave up for DRob to get the 6th overall when we took Gholston, and no one player that was drafted after Verngina would be worth more than any combo of the above players.
I think what some folks are focusing on is actual production. For at least a season, or season and a half, with the guy playing next to the Turd, at least he was giving us some return on investment. He showed more in that period of time than Gholston has in 3 years. We did certainly pass on alot of talent when you consider what we gave up for DSloB. "Can't nobody block me." became "Can't nobody employ me." In what, less than 6 seasons?
Vernon Gholston is so awful that despite this: there's still a discussion on what the worst draft decision in NYJ history is
