With all the talk about the Jets impending Free Agents and whether or not Mr.T can bring back all four of our big name guys I was looking on Jets Salary Cap to see who is owed what and if it's correct and or im reading it correctly the Jets would stand to save $4 million dollars if they cut Damien Woody.

Now I like Big Wood but he is getting up there in age and is now coming off of an injury. We drafted Ducasse last season in the 2nd round who played Tackle in College and with the play of Wayne Hunter would it make sense to cut Woody, save the money, resign Hunter to a cheaper deal and let him and Ducasse battle it out for Right Tackle next off season?

This is of course if I am reading the Jets cap page correctly as I said earlier.

Woody's knee is being held together by the same wire coat hanger that's keeping Pennington's shoulder in place.

Woody was great for the franchise and it will suck to see him go. But he is getting up there in years and can probably see the writing on the wall.

Yet another excuse for BS to keep his job, watch, I bet when we collapse offensively next year, were going to hear..."well his offensive line is not as good" or " we lost some of our receivers so he has no one to execute the offense the way he wants to run it"

Time for Hunter to step up and take his place.

Hunter's a nice back up......but he's not the answer, he'll be 30 next season, and in his 8 seasons, he's never been a starter (to my knowledge).

Love to have him back for depth purposes.......but we can't go into next season with just him and Ducasse battling it out for the starting spot.

I was not knocking your post, I'm just preparing myself for our offensive line not being good next year because of having Hunter as our starting RT and who knows how it will turn out with the WR's.

I don't know if we can get any better on offense in regards to our skill level.

My point was that if we regress on offense next year and BS starts getting hammered on this forum, I can see the excuses being made on his behalf.
