I would like to recommend that Jet's fans in Pittsburgh head to Archie's Tavern (South Side) next season to watch games. We need to band together to withstand the Black & Gold plague, especially if they reach "Seventh Heaven" (I just vomited in my mouth a bit typing that): http://www.urbandrinks.com/happyhour/places/show/3918/archies_tavern Why this place? - Beers are reasonably priced. - There are other places within walking distance if it's not a good spot in a particular week. - It's on the bus line. - The owner is friendly to out of town teams. Let me know if this works. I am open to other suggestions.
Another place I would recommend is Modern Cafe which was a few blocks away from Gate A, good food reasonable price, very wide beer variety, and a lot of big tvs. The owner was very good to us and even came up to us after the game to tell us "We was honored to have Jet fans at his bar" because both this week and during the regular season he's had good experiences with Jet fans.
It's not a bad suggestion based on the food and service, but I have a couple of major issues with the choice. The first is, do they have Sunday Ticket? A lot of places near the stadium don't get it because they just don't cater to many non-Steeler fans except when their team is playing against Pittsburgh. The second issue I would have with it is location. On Steeler gamedays, I would prefer not to go somewhere near the stadium. Traffic and parking are an issue. I would prefer to find a place in South Side (Archie's, etc), Shadyside (Buffalo Blues) or elsewhere that has parking and/or public transportation options. Dave & Buster's at Waterfront is also an option, but it's such a big place (like Buffalo Blues) that it'll be largely black & gold. I reiterate my Archie's idea. I appreciate suggestions, but I would prefer to get them from Jets fans who plan to watch games next season regularly here in Pittsburgh. Go Pack.
Dear Jets fans in the Burgh: Come to Archie's for the first game of next season. We will represent. Shove that SB loss in the face of the bandwagon Black & Gold armada and maintain our pride. This city is all Steelers fans. Let's band together and show the Burgh that there are others who aren't mindless, football knowledge deficient, "fans" out there. Represent the Jets. Show them what real football fans are all about. See you at opening week next year. I am also organizing a trip to Ralph Wilson from Pittsburgh next season - if you'd like to join, send me a message. J-E-T-S! Jets! Jets! Jets! F*** the Steelers!
