OLBs, DL, OC. Hopefully we can keep this offense intact and bring in someone that can utilize it to it's full potential.
You do realize that "bringing in" a new OC would result in an entirely different offensive system for Sanchez to learn, right?
Ryan already said Schottenheimer's coming back. I'm willing to bet he won't get a head coaching job. I have no problem with him returning. It will only make things easier on our entire offense.
Wait, so African Americans find jokes against any Africans offensive now? I guess if someone makes fun of the French, I'm supposed to be offended since I'm white.
He should probably watch the documentary on Henry Louis Gates, pre-eminent scholar of African American Studies, and his trip to Africa. The disconnect that exists makes SBJF4L's claims of offense laughable. The fact that every other nation in Africa hates Nigerians makes it even more laughable.
Yes, but at least most of the people who are ignoring that fact are arguing for Callahan. The idea that someone would want Schotty fired and an OUTSIDE OC brought in is just so baffling that I had to respond anyway.
Oh, I know. I'll seek refuge reading you guys in the draft forum. The idiots seem to be much better contained there.
1.Our offensive line is young and good and we have a franchise QB. 2.Our FB and RB options are young and good. 3.Draft/find a TE to compliment Dustin Keller, but this field is also young and good. 4.I say release either Holmes or Edwards but keep Cotchery and draft/find a WR. 5.Draft/find a OLB, maybe even a nose tackle if Jenkins retires. 6.Our CBs are young and good and will improve. Have Wilson and Revis, release cromartie. 7.Keep Jim Leonhard, draft/find another safety. Basically our needs are 1.OLB 2.Safety 3.WR 4.TE
While we wont know for sure until a new CBA is reached, what is the deal with RFA this off season (assuming the rules on RFA/UFA remain similar to that now) As in who is a RFA and who is a UFA ? Ive seen different reports of whether Holmes/Cro are RFA or UFA, and such things significantly and directly effect the moves I see us making this off season (imo)
There's no free agency until the CBA is reached, and you can't say the rules will be similar to now. The only reason why RFA was extended to 4 years this year was because it was the Final League Year. If we go to a rookie salary scale, there's no way RFA extends past year 3.
It depends which rules your going by. If it's based on how RFA and UFA have gone every year they've had a salary cap then any player with 4 years experience would be a free agent. It used to be 3 years for RFA and 4 years for UFA. For the one year of no salary cap you needed 6 years of service to be an UFA. Anyone with less then 6 years of service was a RFA. It's anyone's guess what the new rules will be but I doubt that the players association will ever want another year where a player with 4 years of service is restricted.
Just a couple of questions and comments I thought Rex said they drafted Wilson to be the Nickle CB and not necessarily the #2 cb? Turner is a legit Starter in this league. Hunter knows the position already so I can see him taking over for Woody. Ducass in place of Moore? Moore's been the most underrated OLineman in the entire league. But then what to do with Turner and where are we going to find a suitable backup to replace a guy like him? Why are we looking for a #2 QB when Brunell is with the team. Don't you think that him staying is a better choice? He was only signed for $1.7m (going on recall). Do we really think Kellen Clemens is going to be in high demand on the open market? I think Pool played his way onto the team. He's been improving each week since Jimmy went down. I like ESmith's play as well. I am not adverse to bringing in another safety. I love me some BSmith but I don't think his value is worth crippling the team to keep him. Braylon MUST come back. I want Holmes too but BE is my choice of the two. Mulligan or Cumberland MUST develop to compliment Keller. Then we can start the "Cumberland made Superman cry when he filled the Grand Canyon with piss" thread on a Pats board. Keep the pipe dreams of Aso & Revis together alive...
If Vlad the Impaler is going to replace anyone other than Damien Woody, it would be Matt Slauson. Like you said, Moore is one of the most underrated guards in the league.
Yeah, for the 2010 season. Teams don't draft cornerbacks 29th overall to be nickel cornerbacks. Wilson was drafted to eventually be a starter. It would be a blow to the team if Wilson cannot improve enough to be a trustworthy starter.
