In man to man, your eyes are on the receiver. Can't win with you guys. Sometimes wish there was a minimum playing experience/ football education required to post....
You must be a glutton for punishment coming in this thread. I commend you for that. Just curious how your brother is feeling after this season. Said it in another thread, but I'd love to hear if he's got plans to work out with DR this offseason, even in the event of a lockout. Unfortunately, some people think the way you end your play one season is the way you start another.
Honestly I didn't realize when this thread was posted and that it had so many replies before replying... The OP question was originally "where was Kyle Wilson" and I assumed he meant during the Pittsburgh game. So I was just saying I know he was in because he got hit in the facemask by a pass. We did have a couple opportunities for interceptions that would have possibly changed the game. Though we did have two successful picks we didn't do anything with.
I can't believe the douchebaggery in this thread. Please take a step back and let the kid develop. He's with his receivers in man to man. He just need to track the ball better. That will come with experience.
KWs skills are great its just certain little things that he is doing wrong that makes all the difference. If he can fix certain little things he will be a great corner. In all honesty the few times he has touched the feild since early in the season he has done a great job so who knows how much he has progressed already.
Kw is excited about this offseason. He will continue to progress and we will continue to support him. Everyone is entitled to bash him or support him. Either way he won't stop. I am not into guarantees but I can guarantee you, he will never be a bust.
people think, because of a handful of mistakes that a player will never be anything. Look at D'Brick, Sanchez, hell even Revis was toasted alot. Hope Kyle stays in touch with Revis, and Kyle joins Revis in his training program.
I have a feeling rex wanted mccourty, fucken bellicheat beat us to it, so we went to option b which was kyle wilson, just my 2 cents,
I'll buy into this.....right from the horse's mouth. Thanks, Vince. I look forward to watching KW progress in the offseason, in TC and next season. If there IS a next season.
Kyle Wilson was the best coverage corner in the draft...........and he'll be the best coverage corner in the NFL (from that draft), once he develops. As has been mentioned, those bashing Wilson, are the same people that bashed Revis as a rookie, called D'brick a bust, hated the Sanchez pick.......and whine about virtually everything.
I was disappointed in him this season because our top picks really didn't contribute this year and we could use the depth. Wilson has potential but he had a bad year. I'm not giving up on him but I'm not happy. Yes he's good in man to man but in college he wasn't a big time playmaker. That being said I really hope he steps up. This team needs him.
agreed. Hell if i could give K-dub some advice, not that he or any other pro football player should listen to me... but if I were to give him some advice, it would be to follow revis in nearly everything that he does. Whatever revis does has allowed him to develop into the best in the game, so he is obviously doing something right. Obviously nobody expects Kyle to become Darrelle revis just by following his training regiment and rigorous film study, but it will definately make Kyle (or any other DB for that matter) a much better football player.
Yep. That's what I was trying to ask about. Even in a lockout, nothing prevents these guys from working out on their own. Hope the same thing for LT and Shonn/McKnight.
If he was eye shield on his face mask that ball would have been stuck in his face mask. His head is still ringing from that pass to the face. UNREAL!!!!!!!
Can someone youtube the missed INT. From what i remember he watched it come at him. No attempt. Listen, Revis dropped one too. I dont hate on Kyle Wilson. Just disappointed so far. Even returning, what the hell. Is it all on the staff? Did we not need a cover corner to play the slot? He got beat out by multiple guys all year long. On defense and special teams. He should have contributed more. Even if its his first year. I knew Ducasse was a project. And Connor was playing behind Richardson. I asked in this thread before if Revis mentors Wilson in any way. Didnt get a response. I would think no based on performance. Just a feeling.
