You must really love his 4.5 sacks in 5 seasons of play. I can't imagine how much that will improve when he suddenly finds himself forced to shed OTs.
I'm not so sure a guy like Thigpen would command a high price. He was good when he played but hasn't he basically been Miami's emergency QB the last 2 years? There are guys like Todd Collins who looked like dogshit yesterday and Billy Volek. I honestly have no idea what they do but it is something they may need to consider unless they gamble with only 2 QB's on the roster like Colts and Pats do. Maybe they'd resign Smith and use him in emergency situations.
LOL I couldn't help but laugh cause this was good stuff lol. I said I liked the guys, didn't saying they were incredible jesus christ lol. I didn't put any thought behind it just said I liked those three. Obviously does woodley fit the best hell yeah and hes the guy I want but if we are letting Harris walk perhaps Paul P from BUF??? Hes a beast when healthy and I'd love to see what he could do with a real supporting cast.
Thats young, not really. I really like Poole, I thought he did a great job with Leonard out and I liked Lowery their as well, he was our biggest playmaker this season on D. Eric Smith is a hard hitter but not much else. I think Leonard and Lowery would be our best FS and SS combination will Poole taking over the Eric Smith role next season.
Agree with this. Realistically, we wont be players for any free-agents due to our in-house re-signing needs, but these are the level of guys we need to consider. I started from the bottom up for those DL, LB free-agent lists because that's our price range, and hope to find someone servicable within there. On another note, the Wayne Hunter situation will be interesting. I'd love to keep this guy, but I could definitely see a RT-needy team giving him starter's money. He's the kind of guy you gamble on to be your long-term starter. Also - thank you guys for this thread and the great posts - best I've felt since the game last night.
The front seven needs the most attention, no one on the defensive line commands a double team except for Jenkins and he is not going to be the same if he even is brought back. Our line seems undersized either way, we need to get a nice big 3-4 DE and obviously an OLB that can be a force in the pass rush, I think if we can build a front seven that will generate a strong pass rush then the secondary shouldn't even be bothered with until later. We've needed a pass rush since Mangini came in, I've always said the front seven is the number one priority, it needs to become younger and our secondary will be so much better when it doesn't need to constantly cover receivers for more than 5 seconds.
Hahaha, he spent off season and pre season re-working his deal to get more money! Oh god, now he's gunna hold out this pre season for less money? There goes his other hammy.
Seems like a pipe dream but the only thing stopping me from totally writing it off is that he just made a shitload of money from Al Davis' stupidity. Does he decide that he is set for life and just wants to win? I doubt it but I can hope.
I have a good feeling that Donovan McNabb will make it known he wants to play for the Cardinals. His family lives in Arizona and they have some pretty good weapons on offense.
The Ravens will lose at least one pretty good safety if Ed Reed returns in 2011. Tommy Zbikowski and Dawan Landry will be free agents. Bernard "The Brady Killer" Pollard is pretty terrible in coverage, but he hits like a truck. He may be an upgrade over Eric Smith. New England's losing some guys with solid potential: Jarrad Page and Brandon McGowan Indy's Melvin Bullitt would also be a solid pick up.
