So we get another year of BS and his system. What's that old saying about doing the same thing over and over expecting different results..?
"As a real competitor, we will come back stronger than ever and no body wants to play jets next year"-Rex Ryan
I can't imagine Bill Callahan would be any worse then Schotty. I think he's at least worth consideration. The guy was good under Gruden. He got the Raiders to the SB and before we dismiss it as the Raiders just being really good it we have now seen two straight years no matter how good your team is it's not an easy thing to do.
i think callahan would do a nice job - and i think shotty must go, but i think we should also consider that at least sanchez has some consistentcy with his oc - even if its miserable play calling
Rex looked pretty bad. Sad to see a guy who can bring so much laughter to the room looking so down. If I'm feeling sad from watching him, I'm sure the players must be feeling much worst.
That is just absolutely ridiculous. You could tell on Hard Knocks that Rex & Schotty are buddies...so there is no doubt in my mind that Rex is unable to separate his friendship with Schotty from the business of running the Jets offense. Just imagine for a sec that it is a year from now...and this board is going crazy over how Schotty cost us another trip to the Superbowl. It saddens me that I see this as a very possible scenario. I swear, it's like a nightmare that won't end.
Which is why I started a thread asking the fans to at least petition Rex to get the blinders off. Letter writing campaigns are a cornerstone of American Civics. Letter writing (And I'm not implying Schotty sux hate mail) pointing out the idiocy, citing specific examples just might get the guy to consider becoming more of a Head Coach, than a glorified DC. Schotty can be good..but he needs to be coached. As a Former Coordinator Rex fails to do that.
No one on this board has any idea how Callahan would do, and I'd bet my life he'd get killed on this board for playcalling, or the scheme, or something, just because that's how we are. Schottenheimer's fine.
