It should send off alarms that this guy hasn't and won't be offered a head coaching job. He's mediocre at best.

I actually don't mind the fact that they ran it as much as they did, but if you're going to pound it up the middle, do it with SG, not LT. I thought the whole point of getting LT was to have a guy to throw to out of the backfield and with the speed to get around the edge but all Schotty seems to do is slam him up the middle for a yard or two. It's incredibly frustrating to watch.

We don't need to go out and find a new O Coordinator, We have the architect of one of the most prolific offenses in the earlier part of the decade, running our O-line. He took a "washed up QB" and two old receivers and did it through the intermediate and quick passing game that relied on YAC and the pass to open up the running game, it was all about match ups with him.

Santonio Holmes is a fucking idiot. He's a really good receiver but after that he's a self centered egotistical jackass.

We're down 24-0 and the retard is celebrating a first down, then flying around his "jet" after pulling within two TD's. I hate him.

Agreed on these points. Plus you always hear from various "industry insiders" and radio personalities that Schotty is well regarded within the NFL coaching ranks (for reasons that escape me, then again that's why I'm not in the NFL coaching ranks).

Maybe instead of him jumping ship to an NFL position, he might be ripe for a College HC job. But like you, I'm almost 100% sure that we'll have him back next year, and we'll all rehash these threads. Just like last year. And the year before.

The one silver lining (and I'm not a glass half full kind of guy) is that it would appear that we finally have a QB that can overcome the deficiencies of our OC. I don't care what anybody says but after Rogers no QB in the playoffs was better than Sanchez and I thought even Sanchez outplayed Rogers yesterday.

The bottom line is on 6 playoff games Sanchez has 9 TD passes vs only 3 INTs, a rating of 94.3 and a completion % above 60. Throw in 4 wins all on the road. It's pretty clear this guy can play in big games and can come up in big spots.

It's not like he's calling out his QB for not getting him the ball. I agree his 1st down routine is tiresome but his talent far outweighs his selfishness.

U are so full of shit. Rex did get away from his ground and pound game. We rushed 18 times against 35+ passes. Did u watch the game? Ground and pound game is what we are made for, but we did become aggressive in the second half. Rex is much more aggressive than any HC NY has ever seen recently.

When Ryan was here in Oklahoma (Oklahoma University)... the offense "totally" sucked... but the Defense was very good. I see he's still the same ol' Rex...thus far anyway.

I'm not sure of your angle, but even though we are 'made' for Ground and Pound, that falls right into the Steelers' hands. The only ratio that was lacking was the amount of carries LT had to SG.

it's better than the emotionless, flat play of everyone in the first half.

and aren't all receivers supposed to be self-centered egotistical jackasses?

Considering that Ryan was the Defensive Coordinator that one year at Oklahoma, I'd love to know what it is you think he had to do with their offense.

Disagree, completely. I hated on Santonio celebrating the first down at first, everyone told me that's what the Jets need while I was yelling at him to run back to the huddle, and then he catches the TD. This was a team trying to get its swagger back, and they did. I hate SCHITTENHEIMER much more than Santonio, who made some big plays to get the team back in it while Schitty was wetting the bed.

Anyway, good luck finding dynamic WRs that aren't self centered and egotistical. I don't think they exist anymore.

Let's not forget that first TD was all Santonio. He wasn't supposed to run that go. He saw the defender fell and took advantage of it.

You disagree that I hate him? Good for you, I still hate him. As long as he's making plays I'm fine with him being a Jet but I absolutely cannot stand the guy.

I knew everyone would be all over schotty today. The real problem was clearly the lack of tackling in the first half. Mendenhall killed us.

True WSW but still, the game was there for the taking. I disagree with ripping him over the celebrating. It's part of his game and it seemed to work for him. The D sucked in the first half, definitely looked like they left their game in Foxboro, but this team was poised for a big comeback thanks in part to some huge plays from Santonio.

Everybody should be all over Schotty, he wet the bed yesterday. He blows. No other team has come close to hiring him away, he sucked when he had Brett Favre, he holds Sanchez back, and he totally choked last night.

Sorry but I'm gonna have to disagree, the Steelers like any defense in the league like to make teams one dimensional, if they know you have abandoned the run they will pin their ears back.

In the first half the Jets should have lined up and pounded the run out of the three receiver formation or the 2 tight end formation, I know they are stout against the run but the last thing you want to do is run trick plays against a defense that is fresh and pumped up.

The whole strategy with the G&P is to gradually wear out the opposing defense, it's not made to get everything back at one shot, great if you do but that's not the intent.

BS should have tried to put the offense in manageable 3rd down spots and he failed miserably, he abandoned the run and he reverted to his pass happy, double reverse, lose yards and now have to use the shotgun formation to get back some of the yards my play calling lost, way of thinking.

Of course schotty had a few questionable calls yesterday. I knew the pitchforks would be out on here making him the scapegoat and sole reason for our loss.

The Steelers dominated the time of possession and put up 17 points in the first half because we couldn't fucking tackle the ball carrier. Sorry, if you spot the Steelers 17 points on the road your chances of winning are slim to none, and we still almost managed to pull it off.
