I'm with you, thank goodness my work schedule is such that I have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off so I have time to let it go away. I left work to go watch the game and I had to go back after and I was in such a funk. If they would have win yesterday I would have been walking on air for 2 weeks.

While I don't think they choked I don't think we were beaten by a better team. They were just a team that made the plays when they needed to and we didn't. Of course some help from the officials always seems to help the Steelers in the playoffs.

The Jets are the only team I truly grew up with...I have been fans of other sport teams, but the Jets I have lived for for a long time. I can see plays from 20 years ago like they happened yesterday. For most of us here I think the Jets represent more than just a random team you cheer for. That is why you see so many posts and so many people passionate about their feelings. You want to shed a tear feel free.

ditto, man, just no empathy, wheres the solidarity? you put yourelf out there and get stomped. Brutal.

having said that, i resorted to food, drink, xanax, and my hot 38 year old spanish gf for refuge last night. shut down ESPN, the FAN, tv, podcasts, and this BLOG, got lots of sugar and redemption for 8 hours, and woke up, put on my damn Pennington jersey to get outta her warm bed, and catch a little of Carton, Beningno and Francesa today, and wrap up the year. On to the the fckn Mets now and the sinking Knicks.

Do i pay my PSL installment? its overdue. Will Nacho not ever be a question mark again? Will a huge contract ruin Toneey and Braylon? DOnt want to think about footbal for a few months but will check back with you'all from time to time. Fun Ride. c u nex year

I down-played expectations the last 2 weeks. I didn't expect to beat Indy or the Pats.....so I really can't complain. But damn it if I didn't start to daydream a little this week about making it to the SB (for me, they didn't even have to win it). I should have known better. Never get your expectations up too high with this team.

The reality is that the last two seasons they were a flawed team. If Rex and Sanchez can both stay healthy, I believe they will eventually win a Super Bowl. It just wasn't their year. They need to get better.

The elimination loss usually affects me for 24-48 hours....but I am already starting to recover. The worst was watching my 10-year old have a meltdown when they went down 24-0 ("They are losers! They'll never win anything!!!). He recovered in the second half (just like the Jets).

They are a tough team to be a fan of, because they tease you.....but the reality is that, since I have been rooting for this team (1977), they have never been the team that SHOULD win the Super Bowl. They will be that team sometime soon....I hope.

As an outsider I think this is the best Jets team I've seen in years. Perhaps going back to the Parcells days and I think this teams chances are better. Over the last ten years, I've seen the Jets more as an annoyance then a true competitor, but not now.

Hint: When your team wins a Super Bowl, your dick doesn't get any bigger.

    Grow the fuck up.

    (and have a nice day).

I dont get all the "what you bovvered for?" posts - if you are not emotionally invested in the team such that after last nights failure you dont feel pretty down then - seriously - wtf are you doing wasting your time and energy on a jets messageboard - if your that disengaged then why spend time posting?

I'm with the op on this one (and many others). I'ts going to take a while to get over this ....there are many more important things going on in my life now..but no matter how old i get and no matter how much i tell myself "Hey Jets win or lose, i still got a job to go to and a family to support"......still doesn't take away the sting. the 12 year old boy in me always cries a bit after these types of losses.......and it takes a few weeks to lock him away again (Until next season kicks off)

Was pissed off all last night but today it is back to real life.

Also back to thinking all the people who are still emotional wrecks have some type of mental issue. I live and die by the Jets on gameday but shit guys, you all need to have something more important going on than a football team.

I envy that pov, but seriously doubt you're as emotionally invested as othere are.....the emotional issues thing is debatable and you may have a point............but seriously It takes me at least one day to get over a regular season loss........a loss to get to the Super bowl, well I've experienced that now 4 times in my life, and my reaction now is very similar to the first one against Miami........just with a slightly more mature take.....it's definitely not gone the next day I can tell you that.

I gotta admit I'm feeling fine.

Being the biggest Sanchez supporter in the fanbase  I think its because Sanchez has really taken that next step and the Jets should see winning seasons out the ass. One of these years it'll be ours. It might be 4 years from now with a totally different roster, but it'll happen. Sanchez will be 28 and will have so much experience as a QB he'll just tear it up.

Correlation does not prove causation, but I find that if you really know your shit about this team, you seem to not feel like total shit for weeks on end.

That being said, it took me a full week to get over the Packers loss. I haven't been pissed about a loss for that long since 08 against the Seahawks, and that loss took me 3 days not 7.
