http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=6052717 This isn't an excuse, but its just our luck that on top of everything else we had to overcome: questionable calls, hostile crowd, good opponent, and our own mistakes, this had to happen as well.
Sucks that the headphones weren't working. Jets did too many things wrong to use headphones as the excuse for losing though.
I heard Sanchez comment on this in the postgame too...that was about as much of the postgame as I could watch but it does explain the Belichick ten-minute drill offense in the fourth quarter.
Headsets cost a couple of hundred dollars....they didn't have spares ? Woody wouldn't spring for top-quality backups ???
what? you expect them to be doing surgery on Sanchez helmet on the sidelines? having spares is a good idea, but it doesn't help if the one cutting out is Mark's on the field...
Extra helmet ??????? $200.00 http://www.amazon.com/York-Authenti...8MQI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1295876681&sr=8-2
you realize that the players spend forever breaking in their helmets right? throwing on a new one would have been like a golfer being forced to change drivers. Would it have altered things more than not having the head sets? I don't know, but its not something we did.
There way more than a couple hundred dollars. The set I bought for the HS I coach was over 6,000. There are rules that effect how many helmets can be wired to the OC/DC. I am sure they had a backup plan but this doesnt happen often.
That is no excuse in the 4th quarter. You have to have enough faith in your qb to allow him to call his own plays if necessary and not take the clock down to 1 second on every fucking play...
