Gholston, Ducasse, Wilson and the list goes on yet people here think Tannenbaum is a genius because he made a few good picks in all the years he has been here.
That is straight ignorant. It has been well documented that Tanny never wanted Gholston and that it was Mangina who begged for him and ultimately got his wish. As far as labeling Ducasse and Wilson busts? Ducasse had an open competition in his rookie season at a position he has NEVER played before. He lost the competition to Slauson...who happened to be sensational all year long. Very understandable. His only action this year, week 17, he was studly. He got beat bad on one play and gave up a sack, but his run blocking was stellar. He will be a part of our Oline for years to come. And as far as Wilson, he has also been playing out of position all year. He works the sideline. I am still sure he is a part of the future. Maybe even starting next year if Cromartie dashes. Remember, got drafted on to a team with the best cornerbacks in the league. Did you expect him to start over Revis or Cromartie? And he got benched from the nickel...but Drew Coleman was great all year. He was probably our best blitzer in the second half of the season. Of course he's gonna play
you are putting Ducasse - a project pick (who also was selected less than a year ago) and Wilson (selected in April, less than a year ago) in with Gholston, who was inactive during the fucking playoffs in his 3rd year in the league? i know everybody is still pissed about last night, but have some sanity damn it. It takes 3 years to evaluate a draft class. 60-80% of drafted rookies make limited impacts on their teams season. We just happen to have gotten those immediate impact rookies the past few years, so when one isn't perfect out of the gate most fans think they suck. Which is incredibly unfair to the kid who is making the jump from the WAC to the NFL, and the guy coming from D-1 AA at Umass to the NFL at a different position...
i agree the kids gonna be good but being that we were going "all in" this year maybe we could have gone after a dt/lb who could of jumped in immediatly. speaking of which again this was our "all in" year and we pretty much got nothing out of any of our other draft picks this year.

He dropped in INT that would have been huge in the 4th quarter....well, he didn't even drop it...it hit him in the face.
You did not actually. You saw a throw from a guy with one of the strongest arms in the league throw a liner directly at his head from under 7 yards. Theres a difference. But I wouldn't expect you to understand that.
He actually got his head around and found the ball...directly in his facemask. If he was about 4 inches taller maybe he picks that, but if he was 4 inches taller he probably wouldn't be playing CB
He needs to work on getting his head on a swivel. Wilson's constantly staring at the receiver, and has no clue the ball is being delivered. Sensational in college, needs a lot of work in the pros. The fact that Drew Coleman beat him out makes me wonder (I couldn't stand Coleman's play for years, yet he did play well this season). Wilson needs to work really hard to become the #2 next year, but I personally don't see it. That said, I wouldn't label him a "bust".
