Schottenheimer isn't what is holding this team back, but he is what is causing trouble for the offense. The end-around in the first half was a terrible call. The Pass on 3rd and goal after Shonn Greene was gashing them was a terrible call. The decision to pull Shonn Greene for Ladanian Tomlinson after Greene was gashing the Steelers was a terrible call. The consistent draw-plays to Tomlinson after Tomlinson never gained more than two yards on average with the minutes dwindling were terrible calls. Getting rid of Schottenheimer alone won't save this team. However, getting a more consistent OC than we have now will help it. Pettine needs to learn something from this game as well but since he's Rex's right-hand man he's not going anywhere, moot point. Plus, his group did adjust better than Schottenheimers, until the last series. I really hope someone gives Schottenheimer a job offer, not because I think it's the only way he'll learn but because I think his play-calling just doesn't match what this team needs right now. We cannot have a player like Shonn Greene playing second-fiddle to a 30 year-old HB. We cannot have this kind of mismanagement. Unfortunately, for Sanchez to grow, Schottenheimer needs to go. Pittsburgh delenda est.
Holmes is throwing Schotty under the bus. Deservedly perhaps, but not what you want to see from a guy who is looking for a big free agent contract.
Fuk it....some one has to speak up. Just the fact that a player says this means we were fukin right all along..... Brainless? HA! Holmes is a SB winner...shotty is a SB Weiner
"Ask Coach Schottenheimer" When asked why Holmes was upset on the sideline, his response was "Ask Coach Schottenheimer".
Couldnt say it any better. The problem with Schotty is that he can make a bad situation worse by not understanding what the offense needs to do to snap out of a funk
Couldn't exactly hear what the questions were - but seemed to be basically, why only three catches, why not involved in the play calls more, etc. Holmes kept saying words to the effect "I read my play book, ask Coach Schottenheimer about that."
"Coach Schottenheimer, can you please identify which part of your body is your ass, and which part of your body is your elbow?"
