I can understand not catching holding penalties when 10 offensive and defensive linemen are all smashed together. But the new rule putting the ref in the backfield made for CLEAR sightlines on the passing plays and you could clearly see their OL holding the jerseys -- the clothes were separating from the body, did the ref think the DL was moving 30 MPH and it was the f****** wind ??? -- and no calls. I'm not a guy who cries over the officiating. I had no problem with the holding calls on Cromartie. But the same refs who called DEFENSIVE HOLDING on a RAVENS INTERIOR LINEMAN during a RUSHING PLAY -- that they can catch ??? -- but 1-on-1 in passing plays in the backfield, they don't seel ? It was clear as day on my 4-year old, outdated plasma 50" HDTV. Total BS. Art Rooney Sr. paid $25,000 for the franchise, it's worth $1.1 billion and the Rooneys make $30 MM a year in profits....I think the bleepin' debt has been paid and the NFL no longer needs to pay off the Pittsburgh franchise.
Yeah, there was a fuck ton of holds. However on a couple of our plays I was worried they'd call holding and didn't. They let the big men play, but not the secondary
Did the refs also cause the Jets defenders to miss 50 tackles in the first half? Investigate and report back to us.
Officiating sucked ass! The loss isn't on them, but be real, ticky tack fag calls on us and the Steelers doing whatever. BULLSHIT!
the worst call was the incomplete pass ruled a fumble but the jets played like shit in the first half dont blame the refs
It was horrible! No call on the Sanchez slide, no call on the helmet to helmet hit - but called on us, no calls when we are about to hit Ben and they hold... bad...
The officiating was awful, but in the end had we made a few less mistakes we would have won, it didn't cost us the game, but it sure as hell made it a lot harder.
Don't blame the officiating, blame our play in hte 1st half. Blame Schotty. Sanchez fumbled. Good play by Taylor, plain as day.
No, it had something to do with it. Everything? Definitely not. The run defense was just awful the first half, and Schotty called another rough game. But officiating did have SOMETHING to do with this.
Look , I'll be the 1st to blame officials and get all up in that but fact is while they did fuk us over, there was no "Fix"
Oh please, stop it! Holding wasn't an issue. It had nothing to do with the outcome of this game. Holding non-calls happen in every game with both teams. Now the Sanchez slide was a close non-call. I think the reason a flag wasn't thrown was because it wasn't a clear feet first slide. It was more of a sideways slide.
No, and that was the major reason for our loss. My beef is on blatant non-calls tonight which MIGHT have caused us to win the game. I agree: we control our defense and tackling, not the officiating. But that still doesn't excuse the lack of backfield calls. If George Steinbrenner were alive and the owner of the NYJ, Roger Goodell would have 2 tapes of the game at his office by Tuesday. Make that a DVD or Blu-Ray.
If George Steinbrenner were alive and the owner of the Jets, no way would these calls end up this way. Roger Kraft-Goodell might even have a different hyphenated name.
Maybe the Steelers videotaped your walkthrough? They seemed to know all your Defensive formations and easily ran the ball on you guys in the first half.
