Got about 11.5 inches so far, 12.1 reported on CBS in Plainview, the next town, only a couple of miles away. Still have light snow. Stuff is kind of heavy, I thought it would be a bit more powdery. I'm about 1/3rd shovled out. Plows have been through a few times, they are not likely to come back until late today, if at all. Parts of Connecticut got nailed.
well past the 12" mark here in dutchess co. and still coming down.looks like another 4 hour shovel job.ugh gotta get a blower
I never did go to bed... so I'm all shoveled out and it's stopped snowing. Truck cleaned off and I'm mobile. I haven't checked the roads other than my own street. Touch over 12. Time for a nap.
Well, two hours later, another six inches have fallen and the cocksucking plows have put another three-foot pile at the end of my driveway. Adding further insult, the snow is so heavy, it's taking down tree branches all over my yard. The shit is still falling, though. I'm guessing 14 inches. That's like Mrs. johnnyd deep. And climbing.
That 30 inch disaster in Rahway last storm rocked my world a bit when it comes to these storms. I went out to plow at friggin' 3AM, only to be driving home at 6AM wondering why I bothered. A measly 8-10"... pish posh. Nap time.
Someone commented that we only got a Favres worth. BUT ... the little snow that we did get closed the schools down for three days and counting.
It's the density of people that poses the problem. 19 million people in the NY metro area and an incredible percentage work or spend leisure time in Manhattan.
I am awesome at scheduling job interviews for days it is supposed to storm... whats this one looking like?
lol...what storm are you talking about UK? The one that will hit us Thurday night/Friday will be a quick hitter...2to4/3 to 6 perhaps...but the chill factor. Friday Night/ Saturday...brrr...and Saturday night? Below zero in many locations...and thats actual temps...not wind chill. Tuesday is the next chance for a real storm. Pittsburgh PA? From the National Weather Service: Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClic...BZ&textField1=40.4392&textField2=-79.9767&e=0
No you won't. It's already been cancelled. Whatever school you go to has cancelled classes until February 10th, so you should stay home until then. Praying it doesn't snow much. My tires aren't too good, it's much hillier up in Connecticut than I thought it was, and then Sunday I think I'm driving from CT to northern NJ to Pittsburgh by a reasonable hour before gametime.
Yeah, so, we had another two inches of snow today. Nothing, really. Plus, it was warm-ish out, so it wasn't sticking around too long. But the plow dude shows up this evening and starts bashing the crap out of the heaps of snow on the side of my driveway. I went out and asked - WTF?! Figuring he would be sending me a bill for two inches of powder that would be gone in a few hours. He says he's "getting ready for the next storm." Pushing the piles over so he has somewhere to put the stuff from the next storm. 6-12 inches coming tomorrow afternoon into Thursday. When was I going to hear about this one????!!! Mother Nature is a filthy cocksucker.
You guys must be having a boatload of fun out there. I hear the storms are pretty shitty this year...
