I am worried about a letdown from the Steelers. I am scarred from watching the Steelers lose so many AFC Championship games at home that I have become desensitized. It was weird after they won XL..I had been waiting for them to win one during my lifetime. I wasn't ecstatic. I was sort of in shock. Same thing with 43..I didn't hate the Cardinals..if the Steelers lost I wasn't going to take the bridge..especially if Larry Fitz won the game..He played for Pitt, and I went there and he was my favorite player..total class....same thing with the Jets..I am a Revis fan..I won't be overly upset if the Jets win. I actually adopted the Jets as my team last year when the Steelers missed the playoffs. I am a fan of the game and can look at it objectively.
I'd be lying if I didn't also feel this way. The jets just need to win to beat this scared mentality I have simply from being a Jets fan for this many years. I had a great feeling about New England but Im nervous for this one. Jets will prove me wrong!
True that. Saw his interview with the media from the other day. The guy reeks of sincerity it was scary.
it is completely normal and reasonable to be nervous that your team is going to lose; that's part of watching sports. what's f'ing stupid is when people project their fears about losing onto the players and worry that they aren't focused or are content.
I was watching CBS news on Monday and during the sports segment the reporter said something like "whenever I asked a player about Dennis Byrd, his eyes lit up and he just gushed about what his speech meant to the team". They were truly moved by his speech and you could tell by the way they played Sunday. I'm not worried about a letdown in the least. I'm worried about the fucking Steelers, winning @ Heinz once was hard enough now we gotta do it again with them getting some guys back? It's gonna be a dog fight.
Yep..these guys are playing in the NFL for one reason..They have been able to focus and excel on every level of sports in which they have participated. They know they are going to be getting their playoff checks, and they are secure in their jobs. Heinz field only seats 60,000. Santonio Holmes played in a venue at Ohio State that had twice as many people on a weekly basis. Sanchez played at USC. They are used to the spotlight. Just another day at the office for them.
Gotta be honest, I was thinking about posting the Trinity Killer "Shut Up, Cunt" video, but decided on this instead:
Weird It's weird but seriously i don't feel so confident for this game. Why? because i feel we are respecting too much the steelers. Where is the trash talking? Ok guys i like the trashtalking not because i think its cocky or because it shows our confidence, but because it feeds our team. When the media disses us that is where we find our strength. I love the hate against our team, so bring the hate on media. It helps us!!!!!!!We get mad.right Bart? Let's get angry, steelers suck, we respect them but not too much; in no way our we afraid of you!!!!!!!
This is gonna be awesome when its moved to the TT forum. JUST SHUT UP. this is the second thread I've seen that uses the same "logic" also its "are" not "our" That didn't take long... now how about the TT forum?
I have zero concern about the team suffering from an emotional letdown. This is the AFC Championship game, not a week seven match-up with the Bills. This is a hungry team, Rex is pushing all the right buttons, they'll come to play on Sunday.
If anything, they should be more confident going into Heinz field. That should give them a head start. The Ravens offense put up a good show last weekend. Jets offense is much better than them. Jets D is better than the Ravens D aswell. Oh, n Troy isn't god. He can only cover one player at a time, and Jets have SEVERAL passing options. SEVERAL. Edwards, Holmes, Cotchery, Keller, LT. Those are enough options to spread the field and open the run game against them. Oh, and don't expect Mendenhall to have a huge game. He got a couple of big plays last game that inflated his figures, something the Jets don't allow too often on the ground.
Rex and Bart are heading into their third AFCCG in a row.. I think they both REALLY want to win this time. LT is hungry, T RICH wants a ring. Pretty sure theyll be ready to go
