Several Jets players scoffed on Monday at the claim Patriots receiver Deion Branch made after the game that some of the Jets celebrated in a "classless" manner. "Just take the loss like a man and move on," Darrelle Revis said. "[The Patriots] do stuff as well. I don't know who was doing it or whatever, but if so, whatever. If they would've won, I'm sure they probably would've done the taunting like they did that last game we played them. "Their secondary was doing the airplane and just teasing us. So you've got to take it both ways, when you win or lose." Revis was referring to the Patriots' 45-3 win on Dec. 6, when some of their defensive backs mocked the Jets afterward by copying the Jets' airplane celebration. Branch, when asked if he was embarrassed after the loss, said, "I'm just frustrated. The embarrassing part came from a few classless guys [on the Jets] after the game. There were a lot of classless things that went on after the game ended." A number of Jets players recalled the Patriots' antics and laughed at any notion they did anything differently than the New England players. "That's the same Jet thing they were doing last game and they call us classless?" defensive lineman Trevor Pryce said. "We have film of it. We watched them do it, watched the film the night before [Sunday's] game. I don't see why it's such a big deal now when they were doing it. If they had won the game, they'd have called us classless." Receiver Jerricho Cotchery said the Jets remembered how the Patriots conducted themselves. "All the guys on the sideline were like, 'Remember this, remember everything they're doing right now,' " Cotchery said. "A lot of people didn't see it, but we took mental notes of it. A lot of those emotions spilled over throughout the week last week. We could've kept a lot of those things in, but we were very fired up about that game. "We were just enjoying the win, enjoying the moment. For someone to try to create that perception that we're classless, that's heart-breaking."
Sore loser. Let's see if Branch ever clarifies his comments. Nobody in the Boston media will ever grill him about it.
I agree 100% but for its still crazy how hypocritical Patriots and the media are. If the shoe was on the other foot (bad turn of phrase?) the Jets would be crucified for it. Branch gets a tissue and a pat on the back...
The only people criticizing the Jets about the celebrations are Patriots players and fans (crybabies) and Giants fans (butthurt chumps).
Yeah, I've been taking shit from Giant fans too. I immediately suggested they swallow my kids and ignored them..
It's time to move on. Everyone knows how classless the Patriots organization is. From owner, to coach, to Quarterback to everyone else.
These comments were all from yesterday, so I do not mind them one bit. I doubt anyone will find a single new quote from the guys or the coaching staff today talking about the Pats unless it had to do with how they differ from the Steelers.
What was the Pats response to claims they were classless for running up the score against us, against Joe Gibbs' Redskins, and against everybody else in recent years? If you don't like it - stop it. We just did bitches. You can't stop us so shut up and go home. You're irrelevant. Bring on Pittsburgh!
