I don't think this deserves another thread so I'll stick it in here-

Why did the Pats rush to kick the FG before the 2 minute warning? It would have only saved maybe 2 or 3 seconds since the 2 minute mark would have been crossed during the FG attempt or the kickoff, where the clock would have stopped anyway.

It's hard to ask a guy not to score in that situation, especially only up by one score. With that being said, him running it in definitely increased New England's chances of coming back and winning. It worked out though so who cares.

yes he should have taken the knee. i blame it on the coaches. you have to let the players know. the game is over if he goes down. by scoring you still give the pats a glimmer of hope although it's slim. the lowery one was a lot different. the last thing on anyone's mind is worrying about a pick 6 there. they were just hoping to get a stop.

if the pats recover that onside kick with 25 seconds left people would be yelling about it, even if the Pats didn't score.

I was saying go down as well. They asked Rex about it and he said he didn't tell Greene to go down after the first down.

Greene should've taken the knee but I can't blame him for getting caught up w/ emotions & going for that TD. If the Jets would've lost then yeah, we'd be discussing why he didn't take the knee.

Let's try to be more positive though :)
Jets won the game anyway & had some epic onfield celebration. I mean how awesome was it to see Rex running into the endzone to celebrate w/ the players ....

In hindsight he probably should have gone down, but that TD was the proverbial 'FUCK YOU' to the Pats players and fans. Then the celebration with Greene sleeping on the football, Rex attempting to run to the end zone, and the players doing the airplane. ALL WORTH IT. Only time we got an excessive celebratory penalty where I actually cheered.

We all know it worked out in the end and the Jets won the game, but the play at that point was to take a knee on the one. The Pats had only one time out left and the Jets could have gone into the victory formation three times and run the clock out for the win. I could care less about "running up the score." Let's leave that classless BS for the "classy" Pats. Even Ryan admitted that Greene should have been told to fall down at the one.

It's no big deal to talk about this and it is not a criticism of the team or the CS. It's just smart football. You never know in this league so you just don't give another team any chance of pulling a game out if you can end it. It would have been just as embarrassing for NE if Greene fell down at the one and Sanchez took three knees inside the Pats five yard line to end the game.

That's all well and good, but the Jets just beat down there hated rival on the road in the playoffs to head to the AFCCG for the second year in a row with a 2nd year HC and QB. I cannot believe this is what people want to discuss.

99.9 percent of the time this type of decision is completely irrelevant.

If they didn't want Greene to score then maybe they shouldn't have given all of last week's goalline carries to LT, no?

Greene wanted and completely deserved to score a TD there.

I don't think it's bad that he take the knee at the one. Remember last year when MJD took the knee at the 1?
