Honestly, I cant even focus on this Steelers game right now. I'll leave that up to our coaching staff and players. As a fan, I just wanna enjoy this Patriots victory until around wednesday before going crazy over this Jets-Steelers game.

With all that said... I want Revis on Ward, with Cromartie on Wallace. Shut those two guys down, have a body on Heath Miller at all times, and take it from there.

TMC is right. The Steelers offensive line is not as horrid as the media is making them out to be. It's still a below average at best O-line though, which is a huge advantage for our defense. We should put up 4-6 sacks, but the key to getting those sacks, is to bring Roethlisberger down at 1st contact; we cant afford to let Ben turn broken plays, into productive plays, by breaking tackles/sacks.

Mendenhall is a gifted athlete, but the best thing he could have done to our defense was rush for 99 yards. Rex Ryan, David Harris and Bart Scott won't let that happen again.

LOL, a pretty mediocre Steelers secondary? The Steelers, since week 9, have allowed 165 yards per game passing, which is #1 in the NFL during that stretch. They were ranked 25th in early November and ended up 12th overall. The Steelers made scheme changes after the Patriots game. They have been much more effective.

And, your offense mustered 100 yards rushing as a team and what, 170 passing against a Steelers defense with a gimpy starting corner and missing Troy Polamalu. I find it funny that you think he won't impact Sanchez.

Week 15 happened. I am now glad it did. In 2005, the Colts simply destroyed Pittsburgh in the regular season. Later, in the playoffs, the Steelers ate them up, especially defensively. In 2008, the Ravens and Chargers talked a ton of stuff in both the regular season and the playoffs, the Steelers dispatched both of them.

I expect the revenge factor to keep the Steelers extremely focused. I also expect your team to run their mouth. I also do not expect your team to start the game with a TD return.

The Steelers defense will be there. They always are. They will take away the run and it will ALL be on Sanchez to win it. While you have great corners, your team does not excel in getting to the QB. If you get 3 all game, that is fine. We give up 3 a game. That is pretty standard for the Steelers. But, you seem to overlook that Mendenhall was 1 yard short of 100 yards. Ben threw for 276. Since then, the Steelers have had both rookies step up their game in a monster way. The offense will also return Heath Miller.

You may think they have reason to fear you, but they don't. In addition, you have to come to Pittsburgh in a completely different atmosphere. For as great as your corners are, the Jets did not finish in the top 5 in pass defense. If anything, the Steelers will be a stronger team than the one you faced and the return TD and safety are not normal points.

Unless the Steelers simply break down, you will have your hands full. The Ravens game planned to take away Mike Wallace (who topped 100 yards against you) and the Steelers beat them with Manny Sanders and Antonio Brown.

And, remember, our players asked for the Jets. I doubt they overlook you.

    good point

I'm still laughing at all the crying going on in Baltimore...they know they would have had the AFC Championship game in their stadium if they didn't get beat down.

"that was a fix if I ever saw one..

Patriots down by 2 scores with 13 minutes to go. They run and short pass the middle of the field and have a drive over 7 and a half minutes with no hurry up offense. That in no way is patriot football or Brady....

The NFL wanted the jets at pittsburgh! Period!"

They asked for the Jets because they think it's an easier matchup for them.

I think Special Teams will be key in this game.

Of course they do, the Pats have made them their bitch over the last decade so they wanted a team they for the most part have owned over the course of our history.

I think the key to this game defensively is getting to Ben and knocking him down. Ben may be an even bigger scumbag then Brady but he is one tough SOB. Ngata punched him in the face and he took it like a man. The guy played with a broken fucking foot and he appears to like contact. The guy has the ability to shed tackles as good as any QB I've ever seen and unlike the Pats their running game is a force. We need to knock him down and not allow those WR's to get open.

One thing I have learned about Rex is regardless of what people like Fatcessa and the clowns on ESPN say about him the guy is a master motivator and I know he has something up his sleeve. I almost wish that Mendenhall would have gotten 100 yards and broken the streak so the D would use that as one point of emphasis.

Now the key for us is going to be scoring points. The Steelers aren't a big time offense but they have some really good players. The same would hold true true for us. The key for us is going to be Sanchez getting into a rhythm early with quick slants and Greene and LT giving us some big runs early. If we can get them on their toes early the Jets have an excellent shot at winning this game. Of course when you play a D as good as the Steelers that's not an easy challenge.

I think the Steelers players wanted the Jets for the home game and that would be the only reason. As your team showed yesterday, it does not matter what happened in past games. Our history with the Patriots is just that, history. The majority of their victories over us were in the Cowher era some of which we had the juggernaut Kordell Stewart as QB. They whipped us this year, sure, but it does not mean they would have done it again.
With that said, I was happy to see your team bust their bubble and send Brady home in tears! My only downside with this AFCC matchup is I that really have no animosity for your team. I like Rex and his antics, wish more were like him! Your team plays hardnosed defense and excels at running the ball. Most Steelers fans respect that approach to the game. You seem to be on the same trajectory we were in 2004 and 2005 with a young Ben. If you beat us, I will certainly root for you to win the SB. It has been a long time coming, and even though he is a newcomer for your team, LT deserves a ring. I still think we have the edge though. :)

Whichever team gets to 20 first probably wins the game, and at least 7 of those have to be thanks to the defense.
