How was Schotty's Play Calling?

I remember two points in this game where it seemed the Jets were dominating on the ground and running the ball at will. And for some inexplicable reason Schotty stops running. Does he play action? No, he goes into the shotgun. The drive dies on consecutive incomplete passes and Pats go down the field and score.

Overall Schotty did a good job, especially towards the end but a few times I wanted to strangle him.

What did you think about his play calling?

Yes the drive when New England scored the first touchdown. I was enraged. We were running the ball down their fucking throats, and all of the sudden we stopped running the ball and had to punt yet again. I thought that could cost us the game. So there were a couple instances where we could have ran the ball more, (Sanchez still makes me nervous), but otherwise can not complain, good gameplan.

We scored 28 points against a defense that we scored 3 on just a few weeks ago. I think his playcalling was just fine

Yeah I really can't sit here and attack him with anything.

Fucking gameplan was executed pretty damn well.

They got points when they were in the redzone. They didn't know how to do that all season.

Schotty & Rex did a great job today. Not getting a TD off the INT really ticked me off - but we did pretty dang well after that in terms of play calling.

While there were a couple of hiccups, his play calling and game plan were excellent.

The funny thing is there are 31 other teams whose fans complain about their OC as well. I am beginning to like Schotty more and more. He is changing his system a bit to make Sanchez more successful. Really that is all you can ask.

    1. No Turnover. Good job on the offense. Especially Mark and Schotty on the NO INT dept.

    2. 28 points. Woo-hoo! Take that, Cheaters!

Now, if Schotty learns to make this offense perform with any semblance of consistency, I'd be a happy camper for good.

Best part was when Schotty was screaming on the sideline after Greene's touchdown.

It was suprising. I thought we would run the ball. But Sanchez was money on 3rd down. All those 3 downs Sanchez kept converting. So good.

The only issue I have with him was probably Sanchez's fault for throwing for 3 when he needed 5 on that ONE 3rd down he fucked up.

As an avid Schott basher I have to acknowledge that he called a good game. When I saw the 22/22 run/pass balance late in the 2nd half I wasn't surprised to see we were up. If we run the ball successfully, we can beat anybody.

4 for 5 in RZ. I don't think the Jets were even close to that good any game this year.

Great at the end but horrible in the 1st and 3rd. Gets too conservative sometimes and sometimes too cute. I personally think he's too young and needs more experience. Hopefully he's like Rex and Sanchez and just keep improving. Wouldn't mind demoting him though and get someone else to mentor him more...

When Sanchez is playing well he looks great but when he's on one of his inaccurate streaks the run-run-inc pass-punt sequences can get pretty damn frustrating. To be fair I'm sure most OC's look bad when their QB is not playing well but it would still be nice to see him change things up sometimes.

For all the talk about ground and pound and some of the rushing numbers the Jets put up this year aside from the Colts game last week and the 2 Bills games I can't remember a game where the rushing attack was able to consistently move the ball and set the tempo all year long.

That is the nature of the beast. You call 60 plays in a game, if 55 are good calls all anyone can think about are the 5 bad ones. You call 60 good plays but 3 of them don't work out in the flow of the game all anyone can think about is the 3 plays. You won't see anyone saying that Cotch's 58 yarder was a great playcall that took advantage of a mismatch... well I guess you will now that I said it.

I have always thought Schotty takes too much heat when things go wrong, except during the two game touchdown drought, and that isn't going to change anytime soon.

For the past couple of months Schottenheimer has been great.. except for maybe that Miami game.
