So pretty frequently we see many people compare Sanchez to Flacco/Ryan and more than often well hear "I wish Sanchez could be more like Flacco/Ryan" Wonder if this will make Falcons/Ravens fans start wishing their QB was like Sanchez. All playoff stats Matt Ryan 1 Loss - 20/28 1 td 2 ints 188 yards Joe Flacco 7 playoff games, 2 games with a completion % over 50%, 4 tds 7 ints Mark Sanchez 3 Wins 4 tds 3 ints, avging about 60% pass completion. I know its only 3 years so far, but come post season I know who im picking every single time.
Sorry can't start Thread But just gave my Wife a foot massage for luck tomorrow. funny thing is I might get lucky tonight LOL Go Jets
Here's another: Sanchez is the 3rd QB in NFL history to win playoff games in his first two years since.... 1950.
No offense, but I want Sanchez to stop padding his road win column after next week and want him to start accumulating HOME WINS starting in 2011 !!!
Remember...all these other QB's are in low-pressure sports towns. These guys are never under the microscope for most of their games: 1 newspaper....2-3 tops if you include suburban scribes. 2 or 3 beat writers. 3 or 4 opinion columnists. 1 talk-radio station and it might not even be full-time. 2 or 3 local news stations....1 or 2 more stations with personnel covering the team. New York ? 4 NYC papers....closer to 10 if you include suburban scribes......10 beat writers....beat personnel for radio and TV, too......10-12 full-time NFL opinion guys.....20-22 total sports opinion guys......2 all-talk sports stations, another 5 radio stations with coverage.......6 TV stations. It's the difference between playing in a stadium with 10-12,000 people every week and then suddenly 70,000 show up when the games matter !
Really? It didnt seem like something that rare. I mean Big Ben and Flacco both just recently did it. Weird youd have 3 qbs do it over like a 5 year than having it not having happened at all in the previous 60 years
Yep, there's not many QB's that start in their first year. Even less that have playoff success. And remember, Sanchez drafted early and missed his senior year at USC.
So who wants to harp on his completion percentage? Or his luckiness? Or some bullshit aspect with no merit? Wins and clutch performances. Sanchez is beating them senseless.
Mark is a very good up and coming young QB. His playoff experince is proving to be a huge boots in his development. Ryan is a good young QB. He just ran into one of the best D's in the NFL and his defense did noting. Flacco? Well, I'm not sold on him completely. Huge arm but seems to come up small in big spots. He's still developing, but I don;t see him becoming a great one, but probly a good one.
I was using it as a metaphor.....alot of these NFL 'stars' are like Scott Greimke, guys who excel as long as they're playing for nothing.
I dont know, take nothing away from Mark but he really needs to work on his accuracy. Would it be nice to have Peyton, yes but if this team had a QB even like Orton we would be in good shape. With the weapons we have on both sides of the ball the Jets should be killing teams...
Here is a eery comparison: Joe Flacco comes in as a Rookie and leads the Ravens to the AFC Championship game Mark Sanchez repeats the same feat the very next season In Flacco's second year the Ravens defeat a 10-6 Patriots team in the first round before losing to the 14-2 Colts(Who the Jets eventually lost to) In Sanchez's second year the Jets defeated a 10-6 Colts team before facing a 14-2 Patriots team
