Hear me out... He is clearly the 3rd option and it might be a futile effort...But I am positive Bill Bellicheat is not game-planning for Mcknight. They are probably working on Greene's tapes and LT's tapes and know how they are going to use them upcoming this Bill is going to use his pesky receivers and RB's in screens to capitalize on their speed...I think it might catch them by surprise if we counter with and utilize Mcknight, especially if Brad Smith is going to be less than 100% tomorrow.
How about Full House instead, with TRich, Terminator and Greene in the backfield? Of course, the goal is to bruise their green LBs to no end - so much so that, by 4th quarter, they try to avoid contact.
He couldn't sniff the field when you were playing for wins... He played against a bad bills team with nothing to play for...
I'm all for giving him a couple of looks, touches in the game. I've been saying for the past two weeks that he could be a contributor to the team in a limited offensive role as a CoP.
We've all seen his athletic ability during his days with USC, we all seen him go nuts against the Bills, we all know he's a special talent waiting to explode, Joe kind of reminds me of a stronger Leon Washington, but still; he's only a rookie and doesn't have the type of experience for a game like this. Throwing this rookie into the fire of the playoffs would be asking for trouble, flirting with distaster and taking snaps away from proven pro's. Joe McKnight will get his chance to shine as a Jet, but asking him to shine against NE later on today could be asking for too much out of a raw rookie , with just about no regular season experience.
Can he hold onto the ball? Thinking outside the box will help though. We dont need predictable Shotty.
Are they? Isn't there a statistic out there that the Patriots are like 30th in power rushing defense?
He showed that he can. He puts two hands on it now. What he still has a tendency to do is when he accelerates he drops his forearm and the ball is susceptible to being knocked out. This isn't uncommon with young backs. He's fixed his preseason problem.
If the Jets do use McKnight they shouldn't use him as a conventional RB at all. They should use him in spread formations to try to get a mismatch.
I've been thinking about the Jets running an offensive play that is copied right from the Pats spread offense. Give them a taste of what they do to their opponents.
I've been thinking about this for most of the week, a 3 headed monster would kill their D. I know it was against the Bills, but I saw enough in that game to convince me he should be getting a few snaps.
I don't think they should activate McKnight. They need to dress an extra DB for this game especially since Coleman is nicked up. My guess is that Trufant will be active today. He was inactive last week.
if greene and LT can't get first downs against the worst run defense left playing in the nfl, then mcdonalds wont either. if you REALLY want to mess with belicheck's head, then activate gholston.
