That's sort of what Parcells does, though. He lands somewhere, and when he leaves, the roster is old and the backloaded contracts loom large over the future of the team.
Yeah as Revis already said faggot, I copy and pasted. I would tell you to seek help but reading a book won't help with lack of intelligence.

i always heard that parcells heard kraft wanted to hire belicheat so parcells decided to step down right away and make belicheat the coach but belicheat wanted to go to NE anyway because he had total control there whereas in ny parcells was still gonna run the personnel department
If Belichick had still been DC with the Jets, the Pats would have owed no compensation. By naming him HC, the Jets guaranteed that he would not be able to make a lateral move to the Pats without giving the Jets something in return.

it was really dumb though to let belichick go in retrospect sure a first rounder was nice but the jets should have just stuck to the agreement, he had a 3 yr deal and the nfl ruled it was valid so the jets shoulda just made him sit out, and the plus side they wouldnt have had to pay him since he quit
Wow, some of you have anger management issues. It's just a fuckn question. I always wondered myself, but I guess it had a lot to do with being in Parcells shadow and the Jets being in cap hell.
Total BS. If you read the late Will McDonough, you'd know this was an internet urban myth. Belichick was HAPPY to have Parcells upstairs -- because he knew he'd be leaving in a few years, either for another HC gig or off to Saratoga. What, a 1-time coaching failure signs up to become HC of the NYJ and then when the guy ahead of him retires he decides he doesn't like it -- even though that's exactly what he wanted in 1997 ???? Belichick always got along well with Jonathan and Bob Kraft. But there was no way that they were going to elevate Belichick off his non-descript years with New England (the offense under Bledsoe took them to the SB) and his 4-year disaster with Cleveland (Art Modell badmouthed Belichick to the Krafts every chance he got). Belichick used the fiction of Parcells above him (total BS) along with the Hess-to-whomever transfer of the Jets (legitimate) as his reason for leaving, plus he got total control in New England. He and Gutman never hit it off, nor did Belichick endear himself to some of the other Hess leftovers. The Krafts reached out to Belichick once the Pete Carroll experiment flopped. They illegally tampered and Tagliabue knew it, but only gave the Jets 1 draft pick (whereas the Jets had to give NE 4 draft picks, even though in that case Parcells left because Kraft had reneged on the deal he had with the previous owner). Tagliabue was under the control of Kraft, Jerry Jones, and the new owners who had paid huge sums for their teams and were largely on the NFL's Finance and TV committees, where the Big $$$ are located. Anyways...Tagliabue looked the other way at the tampering and the rest is history. BTW, you should know that the Boston 'geniuses' were disgusted with Belichick in his first season, wondering why they didn't 'steal' Al Groh instead. Even midway through his 2nd season, the Boston scribes didn't like BB's personality or his results. Once Brady took over as QB and the Tuck Rule and the illegal videotaping kicked in, they pronounced him the next Lombardi.
He was a lousy coach in Cleveland and stunk his first 1 1/2 years up in New England until Tom Brady took over. If they didn't draft Brady, Belichick would have been fired by 2005.
Karma for when Parcells was talking to the Jets about coaching their team while he should have been focused on the Super Bowl against the Packers You reap what you sow
What the fuck is up with your posts dude? Why do you have a line running through them all when I try to quote you? You might be out of my league in regards to formatting... Mods will you put this thread in TT?
Yeah, I truly hate Parcells. I was a big Belichick fan was he was coaching the Browns. He took them to the playoffs in 1994. 1995 was a lost season because of the pending move to Baltimore. I was thrilled when the Jets hired Belichick. The Tit Man fucked things up a few years later.
Nobody cared when Belicheat resigned from the Jets as HC because he was just another coach at the time. 10 years of ripping our hearts out later, what could have been...
Some of us cared. This idea that Belichick sucked in Cleveland is poppycock. His 1991-93 teams were mediocre. In those pre-free agency days it would sometimes take multiple seasons to turn around a team. That team was a mess when Belichick was hired. In 1992 and 1993 the team had all sorts of QB issues with injuries and subpar performances. Todd Philcox was undrafted out of Syracuse. He had five starts over the course of those two seasons. Also, Bernie Kosar started to suck. I thought it was genius of Belichick to cut Kosar. Belichick took the team to the postseason in 1994 when he finally had a QB stay healthy and play at a mediocre level. The Browns won a playoff game that season and then lost to a superior Steelers team in the next round. In 1995, the whole team was screwed. It was virtually impossible for the team to have success that year with all the garbage swirling around it with the pending move to Baltimore.
