It was a fluke game for the patsies... Don't know how much you can take out of that game. Also, will the Great Mangini explain his garbage losses to garbage teams. If he was so "good", why couldn't he beat trash?
He is a good coach, perhaps a very good coach but he was in a market where we want results now. He's been on speed dial all week with Rex to help nail these ass-hole Pasts.
Mangini copied Belichick's demeanor but not his aptitude. Still he knows more about the pats offensive schemes than most
Very good coaches don't get fired from 2 jobs in 3 years. I can't believe how many Jets fans line up to defend Mangini's disastrous 10-22 tenure in Cleveland.
I still think that disaster is more about personnel. ChadP is Tom Brady compared to Cleveland's QBs. They finally had a running game and McCoy is too fresh to be any threat. A couple games on tape and it can be neutralized. Same issues on defensive side of the ball.
Mangini was trying to be too much like Belichick instead of himself hence why he failed, plus lets not forget he pretty much built this team to where it is now because he has a great eye for talent, but of course Rex polished it off
If you are a football fan you will appreciate that he took 2 pretty sorry franchises and turned them in to a good foundation for the future. I think the Browns will be real good next yaer but he will be long forgotten.
That was not a fluke game. The Browns ran them over. To beat the Pats you have to be able to run the football consistently and beat up that overrated defense they have. Keep them on the field and wear them down while Superman sits on the sidelines. Yes you must be able to pass on them too and we have GREAT matchups against the pats secondary. But fundamentally you must Run the Rock right down their throats and possess the football.
Fuck Mangini. The guy destroyed us down the stretch in '08 with his awful gameplanning and retarded coaching.
You know what's funny, how quick the media dismisses it the same way calling it w fluke but yet our loss to the Pats was a beatdown ...fuk all things media!
I would think that had more to do with Brett Farve's limp dick arm and tenacity for throwing interceptions...
Being 8-3 and then not making the playoffs was a collapse worthy of the Mets. I was just starting to like Brett the Jet and now hes probably my least favorite Jet of all time.
True, their personnel suck. Of course it didn't help that Mangini threw his GM under the bus, so they had to hit the reset button halfway through his first season. I hear this argument all the time, but what foundation for the future has Mangini really built in Cleveland? Unless you believe that Colt McCoy is a franchise quarterback, the reality of the situation is that Mangini turned a 4 win team into a 5 win team...I don't really see the Browns as serious contenders in the next 3 years unless they really overhaul their roster.
You're not kidding. Run the ball and score TDs, which is what the Browns did. Make them catch up to you instead of the other way around. Overall, I think you just need to be physical with them. Revis and Cro are pretty big...they def. have the size advantage over their assignments (Welker and Branch respectively). They need to be physical with them at the line of scrimmage, throw off their timing with TB. We're gonna blitz Brady more often than not which is fine but we need to get there.
He went 2-2 in the regular season against them besides the 4-12 2007 season. Not a bad record against the Patriots at all, considering they were the team of the decade.
This... Mangini beat him three times, in 2006, 2008 and 2010. Plus, Nobody beat New England in 2007 until the Super Bowl, they were 18-1. One thing Mangini was good at was beating Belichick with an inferior team. Only Rex and Mangini beat him all year.
