After watching Jets Extra Point I'm convinced that in order to ensure our victory Dustin must have a big game, he creates all sorts of matchup
Problems for the Patriots and the Week 2 game was a prime example, they simply have no one that can cover him. I just hop that Belicheck doesn't figure that out, not to mention he's Mark's go to guy

He was targeted a WHOPPING 4 times in the 45-3 loss.

Who knows what Bill is thinking.

But i saw the segment. Keller is a big key to a win on Sunday.

It's not like Sanchez wasn't looking for him to be open...
He saw what he did the game before and wanted to shut him down, which he did.

He was a non-factor in the last game because Chung played a lot of good man to man coverage on him. Let's hope its a different story this time.

When you have a pass catching TE talent such as Keller, it's no secret that he has the type of ability to become a serious x-factor against any D. He's faster than most LB's, has good hands, & is also bigger/stronger than most safetys. He can be a real nightmare.

In my eyes, our two most important x-factors are our rushing attack & Sanchez himself. We all know that though. If our run game can get going from the jump start; NE's D will be forced to sell out against the run, if not, Greene and LT could rush for over 180+ yards behind our o-line.

Once our ground game gets going, NE will have to cheat against the run, by the time that happens, all Sanchez has to do is A) protect the football, B) slow the game down (just another game), C) make the right reads & last but not least; put the ball in the bread basket with accuracy.

We have way too many weapons in Edwards, Holmes, Keller, Cotchery, L.T, Greene & Smith for NE's D to contain.

The real X-Factor is for Sanchez to relax & slow the game down.

The real x factor is sanchez not making critical, game changing mistakes. He absolutely cannot afford to turn the ball over whether from interventions or fumbles. We need to keep pretty boy off the field as much as possible. I'd love to see a 9 minute drive like during the colts game. Let's go gang green!

"FOXBORO, Mass. -- Based on a number of conversations last week, it was overly apparent how much the Patriots were gearing up to stop Jets tight end Dustin Keller, who torched New England in Week 2.
The Patriots executed that plan -- Keller had three receptions for 27 yards, which provided tangible evidence that Keller was at Gillette Stadium, despite his invisibility -- and they've been able to thank rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez for his own involvement in stopping Keller.
Hernandez was one of the Patriots' six practice players of the week, which is signified by a black practice jersey, because he did such a commendable job working as Keller on last week's show team."

Belichick had his first string tight end playing on the practice squad before the last game to put emphasis on stopping Keller. NE made the DE's first responsiblity to hit Keller, covered him underneath with an LB or corner and over the top with a safety nearly every play. After the game, Belichick said Hernadez's role in prep and their resulting execution on Keller was key.

Keller is not a secret to the Patriots. The key is to be able to take advantage of the focus they will put on Keller as they can't put that same focus on Edwards, Holmes and Cotchery.

They don't believe our OC will game plan to take advantage of the over load toward Keller and, if he does, they don't believe Sanchez can consistently find and hit the pass routes they are giving up advantages on.

I hope they are wrong on both counts. I actually believe the Jets will win this game. The Patriots are well coached and execute better than anyone else in the league but they are far from unbeatable.

Teams have been taking our X-factor out of the game for much of the season, unfortunately. He's not as dynamic as many of us were hoping he'd become when he was drafted.

Dynamic tight ends show up in most games as a crutch. When teams focus on Keller, he ceases to exist.

Anyone can be taken out of the game if you want to put enough emphasis on them. Teams started to put a lot of emphasis on Keller after the first few games of the year. They stack the box against the run, hit Keller off the line and double cover him. We haven't really made any team pay for that strategy whether by game plan or execution. It has pretty much worked against us most of the season. We have been winning by just staying in the game with defense and making the plays we have to make down the stretch. Win is a win, but we need a more consistently effective offense. Keller is as far from the problem as you can get.

Keller is a talented guy, but I can't call him elite (as I had wanted to early on) until I see elite effort from him. He's above average, has good speed for his size, but he's not quick enough to get good separation a lot of times he's targeted. It seemed like he and Sanchez were developing well together, but that chemistry has tapered off.

The other part of it is Sanchez, of course. The better QBs in this league would find a way to get the ball to a TE like Keller. The fact that teams are taking away the middle of the field only, and leaving our wideouts in single coverage a lot of times, tells you a lot about what they think of Sanchez on tape. Especially with his 'sore shoulder'. God help us if this kid has a debilitating injury to his throwing shoulder down the road.

Forget Keller. He has had literally 5 good games in his career and sucks ass in every other game. You want easy routes, throw short slants to Holmes and Braylon. They will always get yards and the 2 always have a chance to break them for long gains.

If Schotty doesn't keep calling that pattern (or as Peyton Manning likes to call it - the way to get yards and score on the Pats), then he is as big a fool as most Jet fans think.

The gameplan should not be to get the ball to Keller. It should be to get it to Tone and BE, and pound the ball 40 times. That's it.

I completely agree with this, but I do think part of it is Sanchez not being able to take advantage of what the D is giving. If they're paying extra attention to Keller that means someone else should be open. If you burn them for paying too much attention to Keller, they'll have to adjust.

Keller leads the team in drops....throw him the ball more, maybe the practice will help.

Actually, Cotchery does, but Keller is only one behind.

When was the last time he trucked someone? It seems like he'd rather do an awkward jump than truck someone.
