Which doesn't explain why he has started at nickel over Wilson all season. I want Wilson to be who we drafted him to be but if he was better than Coleman I think Rex would be playing him. Coleman being better in blitz packages wouldn't explain Rex playing him the entire game against the Colts when he barely blitzed the whole game. I agree with you guys that Wilson seems like he is better but there must be a reason why Coleman plays over Wilson.
I want the same thing......until Wilson learns to turn his head while in coverage more often....we're stuck with Coleman.
Well, looks like we might see how much Kyle Wilson has progressed. TheJetsStream- Rex says Wilson will start at nickel CB if Coleman can't get go.
The special teams has shit to do with why Coleman's playing nickel. Coleman's playing the nickel because, right now, overall, he's a better player than Wilson (tougher against the run, better tackler, knows the system, can muscle guys a little at the line a little better, better blitzer). So how is losing a better player for a worse player addition by subtraction?
i was being sarcastic. Losing Coleman is a mere blip on the radar...compared to losing starters that actually ARE integral to this team's success.
This sucks, but fortunately for us, we have a 1st round pick just waiting for the opportunity to show what he can do in a clutch game like this, right?
Coleman is less of a need because the Pats dont have 3 good wr's. The key is this game is going to be what Pool, Smith, Lowery, and the linebackers do against Gronk, Hernandez and Woodhead. If they contain those guys, and Revis and Cro take out Branch and Welker, the Jets will win.
