Don't really know what else they could have done up to this point in the offseason. Still not all that worried about it. We already have a stocked team. If anything i would wish for a stronger pen.
He'll probably chime in with something like "Cashman is to blame for Lee not signing and may very well be the cause of all human suffering".
crawford wasnt a need for this team and im glad we didnt get stuck with a giant contract for lee. add 2 years and 20-30 mill onto what he got from philly and thats what wed be paying him.
"Cashmen was too busy descending buildings while other GMs were out getting things done, just like every other year."
I just thought this thread could use some good vibes: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=2968150 http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=2685717
So let's say AP retires. What's our next move here? Is this what the rotation looks like if Andy is donezo? Christ almighty.... 1) Sabathia 2) Hughes 3) Burnett 4) ? 5) ?
Could be worse, we could be the Angels. If Pettite retires I think you go after a veteran innings eater and let all the young guys compete for spots. They have no less then 6 guys that are close to Major League ready. See what they have for a couple months and maybe you get lucky.
The Daily News is reporting that Andy has told the Yankees to prepare for him to not be with the team to start the year but he might be open to joining the team later. It's a good thing Cashman shored up the rotation by making sure he re-signed Sergio Mitre! CC, Hughes, Burnett, Nova, Mitre. What an awesome starting rotation!
